Welcome to the Otway Homestead! The Otway Homestead is a unique guesthouse located on 50 acres of bush and pasture with stunning views of the Otways and the distant ocean of Lorne. Just 12 minutes from Lorne township, it sleeps a maximum of 20 guests and is perfect for extended families and walking groups. The cozy fireplaces, indoor spa, pool, games room and walks along the old growth tree lined paddocks are just a few of the things on offer to make your stay with us unforgettable. The space The Homestead has had a long history including being the Otway Tearoom for Erskine Falls visitors, a community gym, and hosting VIP and overflow campers for the Falls Festival. The quirky, old homestead has general wear and tear as it was built around the 70’s, but we are working to improve it and appreciate your help to reduce further damage. The Homestead has become a family farm to revegetate with timber trees and native plants, so please respect and treat the property as you would your own home. We have spent a lot on installing solar panels and a large battery system to work towards becoming off grid, so please minimise your power usage when the sun isn’t shining such as charging EV’s during daylight hours and turning off heaters overnight and when you’re not home. Offering six bedrooms off the main living area and a large bunk room (accessed separately from the main house), the Otway Homestead is the perfect location for family gatherings or a weekend away with friends. Watch the mist rise above the hills in the winter, cozy up by the fire, or sit out in the spring sun and watch the roos and the sea twinkle in the distance. Located 5 minutes drive from Erskine Falls, enjoy bush walking or mountain bike riding, or head down to the beautiful Surf Coast beaches. The large, old homestead includes: -5 Queen bedrooms and 1 single bunk room off the main living area, plus a large bunk room with 4 bunk beds and 1 queen bed, all linen and towels supplied -4 bathrooms -2 large living areas -Balcony and outdoor seating area -Gas BBQ -Pool table -Table tennis table -Indoor spa and solar heated pool -Four fireplaces and 2 split systems -Large kitchen with 2 fridges and large gas oven and stove -Additional kitchenette with fridge -Tea and coffee bags supplied, there is also a coffee plunger and coffee pod machine that uses Aldi Expressi pods if you’d like to BYO -65” TV and Foxtel, second smaller TV in Bunkroom Please note we have quite thorough check out/cleaning requirements as it’s such a big place, consider this before booking. *NO hens or bucks parties, schoolies, large parties or pets allowed. Guest access Entire house. No vehicle access to lower paddocks. Other things to note Our sustainable Homestead supplies solar and battery power, rain water captured in water tanks, is on a septic plumbing system, and all food waste is composted, so please be aware of your electricity, water and waste usage by turning off heaters and electricity overnight, limiting water usage, only flushing toilet paper, and reducing, composting and recycling your waste via the labelled bins supplied. There are a few cracks and creaks being an old Homestead, but lots of character.
