Artist’s House with Terrace & Views | Old Town
Description
Light-filled artist’s home tucked behind Calle Real in Frigiliana’s old town. Enjoy a private terrace with views over the botanical gardens, countryside and a glimpse of the Mediterranean Sea. A calm, characterful retreat with original details, colourful artwork and a peaceful atmosphere — perfect for unwinding after exploring the whitewashed village, beaches of the Costa del Sol, and nearby mountains. The space Accessed from Calle Real, the entrance opens into a working art studio and gallery space during the day (generally 10:30am–2pm), with your private apartment tucked quietly behind. Inside, the home unfolds into a warm and characterful living space, where original features meet thoughtful design. The kitchen and dining area form the heart of the house — fully equipped and ideal for slow meals and relaxed evenings — flowing naturally into a cosy lounge with views over the botanical gardens and surrounding countryside. Thick whitewashed walls and gentle cross-breezes help keep the house cool during the warmer months, adding to the calm, restful atmosphere. The bedrooms are set along a light-filled hallway. One is a smaller double with an interior patio window and a beautiful original arch, while the main bedroom features restored wooden beams and views towards the mountains. At the centre of the home, an interior patio draws in natural light through a glass ceiling, creating a quiet, sheltered space. From here, steps lead up to the private terrace — a peaceful spot with traditional Andalusian tiles and potted plants, offering a glimpse of the Mediterranean and views across the Nerja coastline. Guests often remark on the unique artistic character, peaceful energy, and surprisingly quiet setting despite the central location — a place that invites you to slow down and settle into village life. Parking details will be shared after booking, but free street parking is usually available just below the botanical gardens, a short walk from the house. Guest access Parking options will be shared in detail after booking, but we usually recommend free street parking just below the Santa Fiora Botanical Gardens, a short walk up to Calle Real and the house. The property is made up of two completely separate and private apartments: The Artist’s House (street level) and The Den (below). Guests enter via the main street door, which leads into Studio 55 — a working artist’s studio and gallery open to visitors for a few hours each day (typically 10:30am–2pm). Your private apartment is accessed from within. You will be provided with two keys: one for the main entrance and one for your apartment. Guests are welcomed in person where possible, or provided with self check-in via a lockbox. Both apartments can also be rented together for larger groups. Other things to note Well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement. The house is part of a working artist’s space, and guests are welcome to enquire about informal creative sessions during their stay. Due to its central village location, access involves a short walk with some steps. We share our favourite local restaurant recommendations ahead of your stay, and are always happy to offer more personalised suggestions for walks, beaches and local spots once you arrive. Both apartments can also be rented together for larger groups.
