Set in the centre of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this canal side spacious property (with en-suite) is set back from the road and offers tranquility. A great range of walks including Pen y Fan can be started from the front door. The traditional local pub (CAMRA award winner) is less than 150 metres away and serves a great variety of dishes. Parking for 1 car is on our private lane. The canal offers more sedate walking and cycling. A great advantage of this place is its proximity to the local pub, meaning that it is easy to walk to, no need to drive. The house is a traditional stone built property and was built by us in 2005. The room has been converted by providing a new access (via an outside staircase) as a private entrance. It is a large space which provides comfortable seating and a large screen TV. The daily generous continental breakfast is loved by our guests, we have a kitchenette space and facilities (full sized fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and Coffee maker with milk frother) to prepare your own breakfast from the supplied essential ingredients (Local Sourdough Bread, Local Honey, Jam, Butter, Milk, Cereal, Juice and fruit). A boot room/porch offers good drying facilities for those that walk. It has a large en-suite shower room (no bath). We are alongside the canal so there are direct views of the many passing narrow boats. Our neighbour keeps Deer and they are easily seen close up from our garden. We are often graced by a large variety of birds from humble Sparrow to Sparrow Hawks, Buzzards and even Kites. Please note the discount for those staying for a 3rd or 4th night. The local bus service stops at the top of our lane, about 80 metres from the door, please check the Stagecoach Bus App as the timetable posted at the bus stop is 6 years out of date. Guest access The self contained Airbnb of Porch, bedroom and bathroom en-suite are accessed by a private key code controlled entrance, which we advise you of the code for in advance of your arrival, this means that there is no fuss about your arrival time, basically any time after 3pm. The entrance is up some external stairs which are unsuitable for children or anyone with a disability. Other things to note Bring a torch as street lighting is limited. We do not have any indoor cycle storage facility but they can be secured beneath the external stair case and access down our lane is monitored by CCTV for your peace of mind. The suite is intended for use by 2 people sharing the double bed. We do not allow the sofa to be used as a separate bed.
