Riverfront Hot Tub in Damascus

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful and private home on the Whitetop Laurel creek, ranked one of the top wild trout streams in the eastern US. The RiverHouse is walking distance to downtown, the creeper trail and Appalachian trail. Bird watching, fishing, bonfires, grilling, hot tub, kayaking, tubing, tent camping, bike riding.. there’s opportunity for it all on the property. Stay and play in the backyard by the river or explore the town of Damascus and all its charm! The space No Smoking in or around the house. SLEEPING: 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home. There are 2 queen beds and a bunk bed with a full size mattress on the bottom and twin XL on top. Each bedroom has a TV set up for streaming only. All bedroom closets have a luggage rack, hangers, and a basket with towels and washcloths. Bed linens will be provided. LIVING: This open concept home has multiple living and entertaining spaces. The house has a fully stocked kitchen equipped with all appliances. The covered back deck features a dining area and sitting area with propane fire tables. The living room has an entertainment center with games (cards, Wii system, board games). The TV is set up for all streaming networks. Off from the living room is a sitting room with a fireplace. ***Bathroom body wash/ shampoo is NOT provided OUTSIDE: Covered front porch and back deck. The backyard has a fire pit by the river with Adirondack chairs and a picnic table. River access is abundant with a large open bank and easy to walk to the water. There are corn hole boards, badminton, and a hammock. Please bring your fishing pole (these are not be provided). Kayaks, tubes, and outdoor games are stored on the porch behind the garage. We share the backyard with owls, bald eagles, wild turkeys, deer, and the occasional black bear. We encourage all guests to bring all food inside at night. Propane Grill directly off the back deck. Propane tanks will be provided but the tanks will need to be filled by guests as necessary if they’d like to use the grill or fire tables. Propane can be filled at cowboys gas station or food city which are just minutes from the house. FIREWOOD is NOT provided. All guests will be supplied with 1 starter fire log. Bundles of firewood can be purchased at the local grocery store, Food City, less than 5 minutes from the home. PETS: - $100 per dog, regardless of the size. - Adult Dogs (1 year+). NO PUPPIES! - Limit to 2 dogs per stay. Non-negotiable. - Dogs will be required to stay in a crate while unattended in the home (crates provided) - crates are located on the porch behind the garage - Dogs must be potty trained to go outside. Puppy pads inside are not acceptable. - Guests must clean up after their pets in the yard. - Keep the dogs off all furniture at all times. ***if noticeable damage to furniture/home or waste in the yard after dogs check out there will be additional fees for cleaning and repairs**** Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house. The garage will not be accessible to guests. Propane is NOT provided. Propane tanks can be refilled at Food City. Other things to note NO smoking in the home. Shampoo/conditioner/body wash, trash bags, Dish soap, sponges, dish detergent, laundry pods, dryer sheets, paper towels, toilet paper and hand soap will be available for all stays. All bed linens, bath linens, hot tub towels & dish towels will be available for all stays. PETS: - ONLY 2 adult dogs maximum. No puppies. No additional dogs regardless of the size. NO CATS. - Each dog will have an 100$ fee. Regardless of the size. - Dogs must stay in crate while unattended. - All waste in the yard must be picked up to avoid an additional cleaning fee. - AirBnB will only automatically charge for a dog(s) when you add them to your reservation. If dog(s) are not added prior to your stay, you will be charged for your dog(s) at the time of arrival. THERMOSTAT: The temperature can be adjusted between 68-73 degrees. Anything outside of this range must be requested from the host. Turning to the right will heat and turning to the left will cool. Please keep doors & windows closed while air is on. HOT TUB: PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL BUCKLES ARE UNHOOKED TO REMOVE THE COVER. There are 4 buckles (2 on each side) which must be unhooked to move the cover halfway or fully off. Do not press the “mode” button. It will lock the hot tub. Press the jets button twice to turn on and turn off the jets. Please rinse your feet before entering the tub. No soap, oil, or glass in the tub. Failure to comply will result in a minimum 500$ charge. OUTDOOR CEILING FANS: - remotes are on the shelf in the kitchen above the light switches by the sliding glass doors. - the light switch must be flipped up/on for the fans to operate. - each remote is labeled left or right FIRE TABLES: - if they don’t turn on then the propane tank may be empty. The propane is not provided (goes too quick to keep filled) - propane tanks can be swapped at Food City (3min from the house) - the tables have an “ignite button” and a knob for flame control. - to turn on just press the ignite button for 2-3 seconds then turn the knob to light - to turn off, just turn the knob all the way to the right back to the starting position - please NO COOKING or SMORES on the fire tables. It ruins the glass. KAYAKS: Stored on the porch behind the garage. Please use the kayaks at your own leisure. Life jackets and helmets are not supplied but highly encouraged. Swim at your own risk. Please put them on the porch behind the garage when not being used. - lost/broken paddle=replacement charge of 100$ - lost/ damaged kayak=replacement charge of 900$ GARBAGE: The home does not have trash pickup service. All trash must be hauled off. For excessive garbage, the address to the local waste center is 30077 Browning Ford RD Damascus, VA 24236. Their hours are: Monday: 12-7 Tuesday: 9-6 Wednesday: CLOSED Thursday: 9-6 Friday: 11-5 Saturday: 8-5 Sunday: CLOSED LATE CHECKOUT: Please note your check out time is 10 AM unless otherwise noted by your host. The code on the smart lock will automatically change at your checkout time. Failure to check out on time will result in a $120 fee for every additional hour spent on the property.
