The castle seems to have existed since the 9th century; it is among the possessions of the Counts of Rodez. Today, there is nothing left of the castle, but we continue to call the old village "the castle". It is located above the canyon (geological curiosity 400 m in diameter and 100 m deep) and is part of a site classified as a sensitive and natural area.
