Description
Nestled high on a 25-acre property just 10 minutes from Mudgee, Little Birdy is a private, off-grid tiny home made for slow mornings and starlit nights. Soak in the outdoor bath, watch kangaroos at dusk, and share the hilltop with our friendly Highland cows. With panoramic views across the Cooyal Plains and Mudgee Valley, it’s the perfect escape for couples, solo travellers, or anyone craving peace, nature and a touch of luxury. One of Mudgee's 7 best Airbnbs - COUNTRY STYLE. The space Welcome to Little Birdy — a peaceful off-grid tiny home perched on a hilltop just 10 minutes from Mudgee. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic rural getaway, a fun weekend with friends, or quality family time surrounded by nature. With its oversized windows and panoramic views, Little Birdy is designed to bring the outdoors in. Watch kangaroos at dusk, listen to the pied butcherbird’s morning song, and meet our friendly farm residents — Highland steers Reggie, Huey, Timothée and Stanley, along with our adorable Babydoll sheep and the occasional echidna. Inside, the tiny home sleeps up to four guests with a queen bed below and another in the loft. Both beds are made with luxe linen for a comfortable, restful sleep. You’ll find reverse-cycle air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and a well-equipped kitchenette with breakfast bar, coffee machine, small fridge (no freezer), and cooking essentials. The bathroom includes a shower, eco-friendly compost toilet, and bathroom basics — plus games and magazines for lazy afternoons. Outside, enjoy the claw-foot outdoor bath, fire pit with plenty of cut firewood, grill plate and camp oven, and a covered picnic area — perfect for stargazing or a glass of local wine at sunset. Little Birdy is fully off-grid, powered by solar, battery and gas. We simply ask guests to be mindful of energy and water use during their stay. There’s no Wi-Fi or TV — instead, you’ll have 360° views, open skies and the kind of quiet that helps you truly unwind. Guest access You are welcome to explore the property. The granite rock formation directly behind Little Birdy, which we have affectionally named Mt Budgee Budgee, offers 360 degree views of Mudgee and Cooyal Plains. The five- minute trek to the top is definitely worth the effort, especially at sunrise and sunset. Our Scottish Highlands Reggie, Huey and Timothee (our new miniature highland) and Highland/Galloway Stanley can be fed through the fence of the tiny home only. Please take care as they have large horns and like to shake their heads when they're eating. You are welcome to visit our Babydoll sheep in the black shed paddock. They can be fed lucerne hay which we will provide. Please don't walk down to them from the tiny home with the hay in your hands - the Highlands can sniff out food a mile away! Drive down and park on the other side of the paddock, near where the bell tents are located. For your safety, please be aware that the fences around this area, excluding the gates, are electrified so do take care. Please note: Little Birdy is located 250 metres from the main residence which is occupied by permanent tenants. We ask that you respect their privacy by avoiding wandering too close to the house. Other things to note - The loft bedroom is not suitable for children under 12 - Outdoor fire pit is not available during the fire season - Due to the property's rural location, you may encounter inconveniences such as insects during your stay - Little Birdy is located over 400 metres from the main road but you may hear some traffic noise Registration details Exempt
