Dovetails - rural retreat in the Forest of Dean

Dovetails is a rural retreat situated in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley AONB. Positioned on the Wysis Way, Dovetails is just metres from picturesque walks, cycle tracks and within easy access to water-based activities on the River Wye. The space benefits from fantastic countryside views, making this well-appointed hideaway a perfect spot for a romantic break or base to explore the area, including Symonds Yat (10 mins), Goodrich Castle (16 mins), Monmouth (20 mins) and Ross on Wye (25 mins). The space Dovetails is a bright and airy space, featuring beautiful views of the valley and forest to the east, and fields of wheat and barley to the west. Your host, Gabriel, has lovingly and painstakingly transformed the accommodation from a run-down garage to a snug, handcrafted space that includes a kitchenette with basic cooking facilities (Toaster and microwave) king size bed, wardrobe space, and a separate toilet and shower room. There's plenty of outdoor seating including a large covered porch and BBQ area for outdoor cooking and dining as well as a secluded decked area at the back of the property that benefits from the evening sun. There is also a wall mounted bracket for securing bicycles. Dovetails has it's own dedicated entrance and parking, and is linked to the owner's home - Brick House - by a split-level annex which enables privacy between the properties. During your stay you may get a visit from Barry, the cat! He's a very friendly moggie who loves making new friends. We also have a new puppy! A Romanian rescue Border Collie called Sushi. she's still a bit timid but loves a fuss. Gabriel is also a photographer and sculptor so look out for his works inside and out. Guest access Dovetails offers self-contained accommodation with it's own dedicated entrance and garden area. You have your own parking space on a driveway that has shared access to the rest of the owner's garden.
