Private, safe, clean, natural, affordable and convenient!Enjoy your own quiet apartment attached to the back of our home, with your own private courtyard, organic gardens and private entrance. Spacious studio with original 60s kitchen and small private retro style bathroom. Our home is a lovely brick 1 story 1960s retro architecture with original features and modern upgrades. right in the heart of Asheville.Minutes to downtown,Biltmore, hospital, shopping, dining, Blue Ridge Parkway and more The space The property is in the heart of the Oakley area of Asheville only 2 miles to downtown. We are tucked away in the canopy of trees set off the road in a little private oasis that feels remote even in the middle of town . The courtyard has a fenced in area that also allows views into the other garden areas while still maintaining total privacy. There is a large outdoor table and shade umbrella for outdoor dining and lounging. During the evening time enjoy the ambiance of solar patio lights and watch the fireflies in the trees during the summer months. There are also abundant birds visiting the gardens throughout the day, including cardinals, bluebirds , robins, woodpeckers, and a few stunning local hawks who live in our large trees and appear daily. The guest suite entrance opens up into a spacious bedroom with multiple windows letting in plenty of natural light and with blackout curtains for sleeping. The room is decorated with lots of local art and clean modern furniture. The floors are all tile with some area rugs. The bathroom is a notably small bathroom, with a small door, small sink, and small shower, all with the original vintage green tile from when the house was built. Please note the shower is the original shower design, which requires one to step over a small ledge. This is a pretty small bathroom, yet is packed with charm and character and has everything you need. The kitchen is also the original design from 1960s with its original tile and cabinetry. Amenities include a whole house water filter, refrigerator, freezer, double sink, microwave , toaster oven and hot plate for cooking (but no full sized stove top or oven available at this point) . Otherwise, this kitchen is packed with everything you need for cooking, making drinks and enjoying . The apartment includes a whole house water filtration system for the best water quality throughout. Guest access You will have your own off road parking space right near the entrance to your private fenced in courtyard. There are gardens planted right there in your courtyard and you are welcome to eat from them if they are in season. We have tomatoes, hot peppers, chard greens, and culinarily herbs a plenty please help yourself. If you want to walk anywhere just walk up the driveway and enjoy walking down the small private dirt road you are welcome to explore just please stay on the established road . All other areas around the house and barn are our personal space and we politely ask for guests to not wander into any other areas around the home. Other things to note Please note that the original shower is pretty small with the original tiles. We have one older dog that live with us and one older kitty. They love to sleep and hardly ever bark . They mostly just follow me around and don’t bother other people except to say hi if they meet you . We like to accommodate well behaved pets and their awesome pet owners because we know how important it is to us to have our pets with us when we travel. Please do not leave your pet alone here unless it is completely comfortable staying by itself without chewing or barking. As long as we have good experiences hosting pets we will continue to offer this space for them.
