Description
We like to think that we have the best of both worlds here at Yellowoods! The benefits of farm life, yet easy access to cafes, restaurants, bicycles trails, farmers markets, golf courses and schools. Only 2kms off the N3, we are easily accessible and very easy to find. We are a working farm, so there will be ‘farm noise’ about and general day-to-day goings on! Cottage has braai facilities, WiFi and DSTV. The space Romantic and peaceful, the Pool cottage is a gem. We love for our guests to feel that they can wander and explore; the gardens are a treat and the old carriageway is lined with some truly beautiful indigenous trees. The original farmhouse dates back to 1896 when it was built by Willoughby Methley for his young bride Elizabeth (Elsie) Symons. Willoughby and Elsie had five children who they brought up here at Yellowwoods.. Pool Cottage is a delighful independent detached cottage with kitchenette and open plan sitting room/dining. Apart from Stone House, we have two other 1 bedroom cottages (Goat House and Sheep Shed) and two 2bedroom/2 bathroom cottages (Willoughby's+ Stone House),, so if you are travelling for a wedding or part of a larger party/family looking for more accommodation then this combination works well. All cottages have DSTV, Braai facilities, patio/garden and full kitchen (Willoughby’s+Stone House), or kitchenettes (Sheep Shed, Goat House and Pool Cottage). Guest access We sometimes feel a little guilty about keeping this beautiful place to ourselves and we love our guests to feel that they can wander and explore. The gardens are beautiful and a walk down the old carriage way is a treat, it is lined with indigenous trees and some of the largest stink wood trees that we have ever seen. Yellowwoods is full of character, old world charm and an air of calm. Other things to note We do have four dogs who are very much a part of the family. Two labradors (Tuppence, and Morata), as well as a corgi (Gigi) and a border terrier (Pip). They are very friendly and love to visit guests, however if they do become annoying please let us know!
