Hamma Hamma Hideaway Beach Front Bungalows
The beach property has three freestanding structures. A main house with living room, full kitchen, full bathroom, sleeping nook and a private bedroom. The bunkhouse has a sitting area w two twin beds & a bunkbed. And the bungalow is a studio unit with a small kitchen, 3/4 bathroom and sitting area. It's great for two families who like communal spaces but privacy as well. Stick the kids in the bunkhouse and get a quiet nights sleep. The houses sit 5 feet above the beach protected by a bulkhead. The scenery changes by the hour with the coming and leaving of the tides. At low tide eagles and birds feed off the abundant shellfish and fish. At high tide seals and otters play around you as you kayak. At calm high tides you feel a lakeside retreat vibe and at the lowest tides you can beach comb for hours. During summer months the water is warm enough to swim without wetsuits. Then when the tide goes out you can collect plenty of clams and oysters for a huge seafood dinner. The tram ride from the road to the beach is a special experience in itself. Guests have access to the entire property including use of the kayaks, life jackets and SUPs. We are always available by phone to help. Since it is a "cabin" there are finicky aspects to the house that usually can be solved with a quick call. We don't live on the property and due to its remote location it can take a few hours to get out to the house for any service calls. Our property is on the Hamma Hamma river delta of Hood Canal, rich with seafood and history. We are one of the two closest houses to the Hama Hama Oyster Company and Saloon. So if a trip out out to the saloon is on your bucket list then there is no better cabin on Hood Canal than ours for a long weekend and culinary retreat. You can see the saloon from our beach.
