FIND YOUR CENTER ON CENTER LAKE- come relax at this little lakeside retreat! With nostaglic wood paneling, don’t expect modern & chic but do expect quiet & comfy. Visit in the warmer months to fish, watch wildlife & take a leisurely cruise on the pontoon boat or paddle boat (for rent beginning in May). Center Lake is weedy and excellent for fishing but not recommended for swimming. Dog-friendly!There are security cameras on the both doors to monitor entry, delivery of packages, and pier/boat. The space Whether your looking for a getaway with family and friends or a quiet oasis, you won’t want to leave this lakeside vacation retreat nestled only one-hour away from the busy metropolitan areas of Chicago, Madison, and Milwaukee. Enjoy WATERFRONT privacy & views from the living room, backyard pier, and throughout the cabin. **Please note: This is a cabin with historic settling and, while it has been thoroughly inspected and deemed safe by a structural engineer, there is crowning in the living room which leads to some unevenness (slight slanting) of the floor. Weedy and clean, Center Lake is ideal for recreational fishing and delivers if you are craving some nature-inspired outdoor activity. Head to trails at the nearby Salem Community Park or pack up the sleds and drive 2-miles to the perfect sledding hill at Silver Lake Park. Still not enough? How about a ski lesson, snowtubing , or dinner at the lodge as you’re only 4-miles from the newly renovated Wilmot Ski Mountain owned by Vail Ski Resorts. This is a dog-friendly home and there is a $30/day fee. Please be a responsible pet owner and clean up all dog messes, then dispose bags in the outside garbage bin. There are snapping turtles in the lake so we do not recommend allowing your dog to swim. We offer seasonal rental of our 18 foot pontoon boat by the day. Please inquire for price. The pontoon is located at the back pier for easy access on and off the water. It comfortably seats up to six people and has a newer motor which will provide you reliable and leisurely rides around the lake, but is not suitable for fast speeds or for towing any recreational floatation equipment. Center Lake has a no wake policy. We are dog friendly but do not allow cats. Guest access Entire property Other things to note This is a HISTORIC cabin and is one of the original properties on the lake. If you are looking for a chic and modern accommodation, this is not the place for you. The original structure has been extended and renovated over time but some original QUIRKS remain, including a CROWNING (uneven) floor in part of the living room and and a reminiscent smell of a wood-burning fireplace that was used for over 40 years that has been replaced with an electric fireplace. In the summer months there is a FIREPIT on the east lot (next to the house) that is ready for your enjoyment. Please do not leave food, bottles, cans, etc. outside near the firepit or patio as ita ttracts wildlife. A PADDLEBOAT and PONTOON BOAT is also available for use if requested prior to your stay for a rental fee. We have a security camera positioned to monitor boat.
