Description

Get away from it all with a station stay at Moolooloo Station in our historic Shearer's Quarters. Enjoy the stunning Flinders Ranges in authentic accommodation with comfort. This is a perfect holiday for those who want to explore this spectacular part of South Australia without the camping. Enjoy bushwalking, 4WD'ing, soaking in the history, photography, painting, relaxing by the fire, and getting a glimpse of life on a working sheep station. Very remote and self catered. Other things to note Linen not provided. BYO towels and bedding. We provide bath mats, tea towels and hand towels. Recommend sleeping bags in cold weather. Kitchen is fully equiped with everything you need including two stoves and ovens and a wood stove for heating and cooking if you are in to that. There are 3 full size fridges with part freezers so there is plenty of room for food storage. Supplies provided in kitchen for cleaning, doing dishes, and consumables like bin bags and toilet paper. There is a large indoor and outdoor dining area as well as plenty of chairs and logs to sit on down by the fire. Wood is provided for the outdoor fire and also the wood stove in winter. You may also collect additional wood but chainsaws are not permitted. The quarters is powered by a generator and you may use it for up to 12 hours per day. This is plenty of time for the fridges to keep food cold. Please contact us if you need power overnight and it can be negotiated. Dogs are welcome on station but there is no enclosed yard at the quarters and dogs are not permitted inside and must be controlled. If not social with dogs or people they must be on a chain or lead at all times. Please clean up after them. Configuration: There are 9 separate bedrooms, most with single beds and bunks. One room has a double bed. Rates are for twin share and can be negotiated for separate bedrooms. There are three showers and three toilets. Capacity: 23 beds but extras can be negotiated in swags or caravans if large groups. Contact us directly at Moolooloo Station. Vehicle access: the quarters and homestead can be accessed using conventional vehicles but the majority of the station can only be accessed by high clearance 4WD. Things to see and do on station: There is about 3 full days worth of activities on the station It is very big (600 square kms) and after booking you will be provided with detailed guest notes for all of this, including drives, walks, look outs, history, and Aboriginal cultural sites. Most activities are only available to paying guests of the station. Please note that we do not have any supplies or food for sale. You will need to bring everything with you. This is a very remote and stunning part of Australia. WiFi is available at the WiFi shelter up near the homestead. It can be used for free to check phones messages and emails etc. Not suitable for streaming due to data limits.
