Charming log cabin guest house. The property is a sanctuary for birds and people. Summertime fireflies dance in the trees at night, close range fall color and a spacious full moon sky will greet you season by season. Quintessential WNC charm, you may even hear the neighboring horse and buggy clomp on by. This picturesque, pastoral setting is flanked by short range mountain views, perched above Little Ivy Creek. The creek does not run directly through the property, rather babbles below. The space This well appointed guest house sits on two acres, adjacent the main house. The guest house is 450 square feet, built on a hillside, wrapped in several giant poplar trees. The space itself is warm, comfortable and functional. The bones are solid, a rustic and lovingly maintained log cabin. The furnishings are fresh and modern with a touch of class. The guest house has a queen size bed and a king size sleeper sofa. There is a $30 per night upcharge for a second or third guest using the sleeper sofa. The queen size mattress is medium plush. The sleeper sofa is high quality memory foam and truly comfortable. The sleeper pulls out as a twin or a king size bed. While the guest house can sleep four, it is most comfortable for one couple, close friends or a small family. The small bathroom is located off the bedroom. The efficiency kitchen is efficiently nooked into the living room. All feels spacious. The kitchen is equipped with quality cookware and everything you need to prepare meals. There is a two burner induction cooktop, mini fridge, microwave, cordless glass kettle and Keurig coffee maker. The property has delicious well water for drinking. The unit has two new heat pump mini splits for year round comfort. The bathroom and fixtures are newly updated. Of note: the driveway is not especially long or steep, though does travel up a sloping hillside. While we rarely get snow, access may be limited at times. There is also the option to park below and walk up. Guest access While your space is private and your privacy respected, guests have full access to the property and gardens, with the exception of the covered front porch of the main house. Other things to note Through a lifetime in the service and health and wellness industries, I am honored to be hosting Songbird Lane Guest House.
