The Big House-grand comfort at Serra da Estrella

The Big House sits in the heart of the 16th century village of Vinhó in the beautiful Serra da Estrela. The space Recently fully renovated and boasting the owner's collection of antiques and paintings throughout, this house glows with a sense of Portugal's rich history. With comfortable furnishings and bedding throughout, the home is fully heated in winter and wonderfully cool during summer, and is the perfect house for a group of friends or family to explore Portugal's largest natural park. Enter through the grand entrance on the cobbled village main street, and up the staircase where you will find the first floor lobby , the first double bedroom and new bathroom . Also on this floor the main sitting room with log burner and comfy furnishings leads through to the grand dining room and on to the country kitchen and breakfast room . All these rooms have windows and French doors to the shared courtyard and garden below . From the first floor another staircase leads to the small library on the top floor and on to two more generous bedrooms and bathrooms (one ensuite ) plus a dedicated study, with an extra bed perfect for children. You will find plenty of options in this rambling home for either gathering together as a family or group, or relaxing for some "alone time" in one of the several comfortable sitting areas found throughout the house.
