You’ll feel a thousand miles away in this tasteful, wine country retreat, surrounded by natural beauty. Conveniently located just off Highway 12 halfway between Sonoma and Santa Rosa. Yet Kenwood Village and Glen Ellen, with their charming local markets and excellent restaurants, are just minutes away. The space It’s called Himmel, meaning “Sky,” because when you are on the property—relaxing by the pool, sipping wine on the patio, or watching the sunset on the terrace—you feel that the sky is yours alone. There is nothing between you, and the clouds and the stars, and nothing to obstruct your view from the rolling hillsides dotted with oaks in the distance. At night, only the sounds of crickets and frogs and the occasional owl in the distance break the silence. The house itself is lovely; with abundant natural light, stylish yet relaxed furnishings, original art, and thoughtful amenities to add to your comfort. It has three bedrooms and two baths, with many tasteful updates, modern fixtures and appliances, and a well-equipped kitchen. The great room and its French doors lead to multiple outdoor spaces, from the solar-heated lap pool and terrace to the garden, to patios and outdoor dining areas, including a covered/heated lanai. Himmel House feels far away, but it’s easy to get to. If you arrive by HWY 12, there are no rutted, winding roads to navigate or mountain paths. You’re just a mile from Kenwood village and five minutes from the quaint town of Glen Ellen and 15 minutes from either downtown Sonoma or Santa Rosa. All offer excellent restaurants, markets, and shopping. Wine enthusiasts and nature lovers will find Himmel House convenient to a 10-mile stretch of wine tasting on Sonoma Highway, and hiking through the Mayacamas Mountains, Sugarloaf Park, Annadel State Park, or Jack London State Historic Park. No visitors are allowed. While we absolutely want you to enjoy the house and your vacation, we ask that you please be mindful of the neighbors. The way the house is situated noise can carry quite easily to the other homes so please keep the volumes down.**
