Sunnyside Beach Hideaway - Private guest suite

Welcome to Sunnyside Hideaway! A beautifully renovated lower-level private guest suite that offers easy living comforts for long-term stays (28+days) near Sunnyside Beach. This gem of a suite is warm and inviting and perfectly suited for both R&R and as a quiet place to work. It was designed to retain the charm and character of our century home while incorporating modern amenities and playing up some very cool vacation vibes! A perfect spot from which to explore the city & its waterfront. The space The guest suite is located on the lower-level of our home. It is one large open-concept room that has been cleverly laid out to offer distinct and cozy living and sleeping areas. The bed is located in a space segregated from the main living space and can be closed off with curtains. The suite includes : • a private entrance accessible from our side door, with key pad lock • a Haven « Lux Rejuvenate » queen mattress with high quality 100% cotton bedding as well as duvet, blankets and a choice of pillows • comfortable furnishings with a Samsung 55" 4K Smart TV and Bluetooth speaker radio • fast and reliable fibre-powered internet with a strong wi-fi connection • a fully equipped kitchenette with stainless steel cabinetry, new appliances and a panoply of small appliances to ensure you can cook just about anything you fancy, including basic food staples (i.e. oil/salt/pepper/sugar/herbs/spices) and a Keurig coffee machine • a walk-in pantry with a washer & dryer and storage • a bathroom with in-floor heating, a large shower and vanity, quality bath towels and supplies • a dressing room with a make-up vanity, large mirrors and storage for your clothes • a space for your luggage under the stairs • a separate heating system from the rest of the house as well as heavy thermal and sound insulation to ensure comfort and privacy • a new and quiet window air conditioner unit in the summer months as well as a fan and dehumidifier. Note that it can get very humid in Toronto in the summer. While the suite tends to remain cool and comfortable, this equipment will keep it that way on those very hot summer days. • a non-smoking environment • a Trolley Dolly to make grocery trips easier or to pack for a day at the beach • and of course, beach towels! ***PARKING: please note that on-site parking is not always available. If you require parking, please contact me to discuss availability. I will do my very best to accommodate you. Guest access The entire guest suite is just for you. The best and most private way to access it is via the side entrance door located on the north side of the house. To access this entrance, make your way down the walkway on the left side of the porch. You'll see the door under the covered area. The outdoor light will turn on as you arrive. The lock is a key pad (we'll give you your own entry code before your arrival). The outdoor walkway runs between our house and our neighbour's house so it's possible you may see them from time to time during your stay. Once inside, make your way down the stairs. The entrance can be a bit tight because of the direction of the door and the narrow staircase. But once you're past that, you'll have arrived to your private hideaway where you can kick back and relax. Other things to note Our family of three lives upstairs with our dog (a friendly Labrador) so you may hear us moving about from time to time. Our dog is not allowed in the guest suite as we are mindful that some of our guests may have allergies. Our dog is mostly quiet but, like most dogs, she does bark occasionally (for instance if people come to the door unexpectedly or a raccoon is hanging around in our backyard!). Also, our house does come with normal noises typical of older homes, mostly related to changes in seasonal temperature and humidity levels (like creaking sounds and radiator noises). These are things to keep in mind for those who are noise-sensitive and need a completely noise-free environment. We are a generally quiet household and we make every effort to keep the noise down when our guests work from home during the day. Our family has a very early work schedule so we ask for quiet hours between 10:00pm and 7:00am. No other guests other than those registered with us are allowed to stay in the guest suite. The boiler/furnace room and electrical panel is located within the guest suite. As such, we may very occasionally need to access the space for seasonal maintenance or repair. We will coordinate this with you as much as possible in order to avoid/minimize any intrusion into your stay. There is a door at the top of the stairs with a lock on it. This is how we access the guest suite from within the house when needed. Ceiling height: The space is best suited for individuals comfortable with lower ceilings just shy of seven feet and center ceiling beam with a height of just under six feet. While the space does not at all feel cramped, the suite is best suited for individuals who are under six feet in height. ***PARKING: Please note that on-site parking is not always available. Please let me know if you require parking and we can discuss availability. I will do my very best to accommodate you. Otherwise, street parking is available with a permit from the City of Toronto for a reasonable fee. We can assist you with this process if needed. There is also a parking lot close by and we’re happy to offer you temporary parking in our driveway for loading/offloading your luggage, groceries, etc.
