Description

This bright, airy three bedroom cottage is right on the lake, with a lovely sand beach just outside the door. It features a large deck, private dock, and a sweet sunroom perfect for curling up with your favourite book. The cabin is surrounded by mature trees that make you feel like you're in a postcard, especially in the fall. The recently renovated bathroom with shower and full kitchen provide all the comforts of home! The space This classic vintage three bedroom cabin is part of Northern Skies Resort, a small cottage resort with eight lakeside cabins that has been part of our family for over 80 years and is now owned and operated by the fourth generation owners - Robin, Fred and family. The three double beds are comfortable and the linen is crisp and clean! Loon calls are guaranteed, as are thousands of stars and a good night's sleep. We also have a crib and baby gear available for free if needed. Cell coverage is very strong at the cabin and complimentary unlimited high speed wifi is available at your cabin. However it's also the perfect place to disconnect completely and enjoy the peace and serenity! At night, star gazing is unparalleled and the northern lights can sometimes be seen. The property, lake and surrounding area have plenty of opportunities for canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding (we provide kayaks, canoes, SUPs and lifejackets for free), boating (we rent boats and motors), fishing, hiking and scenic drives. There is also a campfire area and sandy beach that is available for the use of all guests. Guided fishing, hiking, paddling and arts experiences can be reserved. Buy locally made goods at our onsite Mini Makers Market! The cabin is located in Algoma Country's famous Mississaugi Valley, named after the wild and winding river that provides a stunning scenic drive at any time of year that starts just "up the road" - we highly recommend packing a picnic and taking a day to explore this beautiful route. This part of the province - which is Anishinaabe territory - is remote and rugged, meaning it is free of the crowds common in cottage country and provincial parks. You will have unlimited privacy on your adventures. The cabin is also a short drive away from quaint towns, First Nations, hamlets and farming communities that are full of talented craftspeople, artists and artisans whose skills have been passed down through generations. They have all the necessities you would need in terms of groceries and basic provisions. Guest access The cottage is yours alone for the duration of your stay. You have your own private dock, two decks, and screened porch as well as private parking right at your cabin. All guests have access to a sauna, large shared sandy beach and campfire area. Other things to note We are dog friendly but dogs must be kept on leash while on resort property - there is an off leash area a short walk away. We charge a $50 pet cleaning fee. As part of our commitment to reconciliation, Indigenous guests are eligible for Land Back Pricing which is 15% off the base price before HST. If you identify as Indigenous let us know if you would be interested in having 15% taken off your final balance.
