Get away from the hustle and bustle and relax at Back Acres Ranch! Our cabin sits on 90 acres for you to explore just minutes from the Royal Gorge in Cañon City Colorado. The property butts up to 60,000 acres of BLM if you’re feeling adventurous! Our property also offers a private mountain side gym as well as private hiking/ dirt bike trails for you to enjoy during your stay. The space Location: Back Acres Ranch is located on a 90 acre private property bordered by National Forest. It is about a 2.5 hour drive from Denver and just under an hour from Colorado Springs. To get here I would recommend the beautiful drive up 285 but you can also take 25 through the Springs. Traffic is far better on 285 compared to the dreaded drive up 70. What to do: Back Acres Ranch is located less than 20 minutes from the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. This park offers the highest suspension bridge in the US with stunning views. They also offer zipling and a sky coaster (my personal favorite). There is an abundance of white water rafting, jeep tours, and helicopter tours offered just minutes down the road. Eleven mile state park is also within an hours drive. There is also private hiking/dirt bike trails available on the property itself as well as it sits on 90 acres. The star gazing at night is breathtaking. The Basics: The cabin offers a queen size bed in the loft and a pull out full on the main level. Perfect for couples or families with a couple kids. It has everything you need from kitchen utensils, an outdoor bbq area, propane fire pit, and of course a coffee maker with free coffee! There is also a washer and dryer available for use. Back acres Ranch is pet Friendly! Our cabin has a propane heater that will keep you toasty in the winter and an open window in the cool summer nights will keep it just right! Cell service is spotty but i have AT&T and I am able to use it. No open campfires due to state fire bans, but don’t worry the propane fire pit is located in the patio area. Access: The cabin is located off a county maintained road and the driveway itself is plowed in the winter. You will turn off of back acres road and come through a swing gate. From here continue left at the fork in the driveway (a right will take you to the private gym). 4wd or all wheel drive required in the winter months Around You: Cañon city is the closest town located about 25 minutes away with all the amenities you would expect in a city. Monarch Mountain is the closest ski area located roughly 1.5 hours away. Guest access Guests have access to 90 acres of private land with amazing views and plenty of room to explore. Other things to note Under fair weather, the road is accessible to all vehicles. Yet, in winter, a small shaded area might retain compacted snow. For winter stays, guests should consider a vehicle suitable for possible snowfall. Please note that not having an appropriate vehicle during snowy conditions is solely the guest's responsibility; the host cannot guarantee road conditions.
