Solar Backup for 2 days The space Escape to the heart of California at Sierra Vista Lookout Lodge, nestled in the charming historic town of North Fork—the geographical center of the state. Located just 7 miles from the pristine waters of Bass Lake and 22 miles from Yosemite National Park’s south gate, this serene retreat offers the perfect base for exploring the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Imagine soaking in a 6-person hot tub under a canopy of stars, sharing stories, and reconnecting with loved ones. Step outside your back gate to embark on a private 3/4 mile hike to South Fork Willow Creek, where secluded waterholes and cascading waterfalls await—a hidden gem accessible only to our guests. As one delighted visitor put it, “The river is pure magic. We would definitely stay here again just to access the river! We had such a good time.” Sierra Vista Lodge is more than just a place to stay—it's your gateway to adventure and relaxation. Part of the exclusive "Parcels of Paradise," this fully equipped home boasts amenities like a Pool table/Ping-pong combo, Smart TVs, a BBQ grill, a fire-pit, and ample seating on two-level decks perfect for soaking in the panoramic mountain views. Whether you’re planning a family reunion, a getaway with friends, or a trip with your furry friends, the lodge offers a blend of outdoor fun and cozy indoor comfort. Adventure starts right at your doorstep. The lodge borders the Sierra National Forest, opening up a world of hiking, fishing, and exploration just beyond your backyard. The outdoor space is designed for all ages—while adults enjoy stargazing from the renovated decks or relaxing in the hammock, the kids can let loose on the playset with a swing and slide, or have a blast on the spin-around teeter totter. Challenge friends to a game of disc golf, or simply unwind in the hammock, soaking in the tranquil surroundings. Inside, you’ll find even more entertainment with an exciting arcade game that will delight both kids and adults. Indoors, the lodge offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. Gather around the fireplace in the cozy living room, where you can relax with a good book or enjoy an evening of conversation by the crackling fire. The living room also features a charming piano, perfect for those who want to fill the space with music, whether it’s a casual sing-along or a quiet moment of playing your favorite tunes. Spread out across two living rooms and a dining area that invites gatherings around the table. Unwind with a good book, challenge someone to a game of pool, or enjoy movie night on one of the streaming-capable TVs. A field guide in the home turns a simple stroll into a scavenger hunt, helping kids (and adults!) identify the local flora and fauna. The full kitchen, featuring a six-burner stove, makes it easy to prepare meals for a crowd, and the dedicated workspace in the primary bedroom ensures you can stay connected if needed. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife—deer, turkeys, quail, and even the occasional peacock are regular visitors. When in season, pick fresh mulberries from the on-site tree and sprinkle them on your morning pancakes for a truly local experience. End your day with a cookout on the gas grill, savoring the breathtaking Sierra range as it glows in the twilight. Then, settle in on the deck to watch the stars emerge—on clear nights, you might even glimpse the Milky Way or a shooting star. Share stories around the fire-pit, or relax in the hot tub, letting the serenity of the mountains wash over you. As one guest beautifully summarized, “It is a perfect setup for privacy yet close to activities. You can choose to stay at the property with enough to explore and relax, or adventure out nearby. We spent nights outside on the deck watching the stars, watched the deer and turkey on their daily visits, hiked down to the creek daily, and took a short drive to Manzanita Creek and Bass Lake. The nearby Willows hike with waterfalls and pools is an awesome adventure just 15-20 minutes away.” Follow sierralookoutlodge on Social Media Channels like FB/ IN for more updates and information. Main door has a Schlage encode deadbolt. You will be provided with the key-code as part of check-in email. In the unlikely event that you get locked out due to Schlage device running out of battery, there is a key placed in lockbox to the right of main door. Please contact SPPM for the lockbox code. The door does automatically lock, so keep the key-code handy. When inside the house, turn the knob to horizontal position. That locks the door for anyone trying from outside. 2. All 3 TVs have inbuilt Roku. You will have to login into your own account on Netflix, HBO or other apps 3. Heating and Air conditioning: All downstairs rooms have Daikin mini-split AC units. These are air conditioning and heating units. To operate, use remote on the wall/nightstands near the units. Simply press the yellow button to turn unit ON. Use ‘Mode’ button to select heating, cooling or auto. Adjust temperature to your desired level. Upstairs AC is slightly different. If you are laying on the master bed, point remote towards the top right of the wall by the door. You will hear a beep and see a green light on the panel. This turns on AC for upstairs bedroom, hallway and bathroom. 4. Outdoor games like ladder toss, frisbee toss, soccer and bocce ball are kept in the laundry room racks. Please put them back once done. 5. Mulberry picking: Every year around the peak of Perseids meteor shower, mulberries ripen on the tree next to back-gate. Feel free to pluck the ripe ones. Ripe mulberries will detach just by a gentle tuck on the fruit. If you must use force, it means the fruit hasn’t ripened yet. Please do not pluck those, else you will just end up with very red juicy hands and a sour tasting fruit. 6. There are beach towels in the laundry room. Please do not take bath towels to the creek. 7. The sliding glass doors have a locking mechanism. Please ensure to lock the sliding doors. 8. PGE has issued warnings for the area that at anytime for any reason, they may decide (beyond our control) to turn the power off if there's any anticipation of fire. We will not be responsible for amenities not available due to power outage. There is a Full Solar Backup in this villa that is automatically effective during a power off, and it can provide power for 2 days, provided no Hot Tub or Washer/Dryer is used during that time. 9. Wifi speed is around 80 MBPS and Ponderosa telephone is the internet provider and their DSL service is generally reliable. But you are in a rural area, and internet outages can occur for which we are not responsible.
