Set in the midst of terraced wilderness, just about 40 km from Mussoorie, this place feels like a different world altogether. This place requires a 05-minute uphill hike. The space Hushstay x Garhwal is a sanctuary for the soul. Every facet of its space is a masterpiece in harmony with its awe-inspiring surroundings. The architecture and design of this 02 Bedroom mountain cottage effortlessly blend traditional charm with modern comfort, creating an enchanting haven that captivates the senses. Built upon the foundation of a 100-year-old traditional mountain home, The Garhwal showcases the timeless beauty of laying flat stones upon each other, forming walls that exude rustic allure. Within its cosy embrace, you will discover a meticulously crafted interior, where traditional architectural elements intertwine with contemporary elegance. The large French windows frame panoramic views, inviting nature's magnificence to seep into the living space gracefully. Split across terraced fields, the outdoor spaces beckon you to shed the trappings of modern life and find solace in the embrace of nature's wonders. A gazebo sits on the lower level and is ideal for a hearty breakfast with a view or to unwind in the evenings. The charming rustic ambience transports you to a bygone era, while the comforts of a mountain cottage envelop you like a warm hug. Each of the two rooms of this minimalistic but snug house is designed for quietude and comfort, marked with understated elegance that blends in with the sights and sounds of its surrounding forests. Massive glass windows usher in plenty of natural light, while stone and wood trap the warmth indoors. One of the rooms overlooks the majestic Sarkanda Devi Temple while the other room offers vistas of snow-covered Himalayas on a clear day. ​ The ample stone work carries on into the bathroom, and compliments its contemporary fittings. Beautifully crafted wooden furniture including floating beds and tables shaped from driftwood, handpicked copper jugs and flasks, cosy bedspreads and rugs, the warm glow of lamps, and world maps that adorn the walls to fuel your wanderlust, all enhance the feel-good factor of your stay at The Garhwal. Guest access Guests can access all areas of the property. The kitchen is only meant for the staff. Other things to note The house is perched on a hillside and requires a moderate 5 - 10 minute uphill hike. There is a designated parking area and our staff will help you out with the luggage. Meals: - Only Breakfast is included in the room tariff. Other meals can be ordered on site. - Meals at Hushstay x Garhwal are prepared by our in-house caretaker and are made of homemade local cuisine. - If you have any special requests, please make sure you inform the staff 24-48 hrs in advance so that it can be sourced in time. A barbecue setup can be arranged subject to availability on prior request. House Rules: - Check-in time: 01:00 PM, Check-out time: 10:00 AM - Slow and soft music is okay, but please do not play loud music. You are in the middle of nature. - Services of the staff are available until 10:00 PM - We are pet-friendly and we love pets, however, please be mindful and inform us in advance if you are bringing them along. - We follow a strict no-smoking policy inside the house. You may ask the caretaker for an ashtray and smoke outside the house if you need to. Accommodation: - This place is offered exclusively to only one group at a time, the price varies depending on the number of guests. Please select the exact number of guests while booking. - Rooms are offered on double occupancy for up to 04 guests. We will offer extra mattresses if there is a group of more than 04 guests. - Electricity: Electricity is usually not a problem, however, being at an offbeat location, if there is an unprecedented power outage, we have inverter as power backup to keep the lights and some power points running. This might also offer you an opportunity to switch off and gaze at the starry night sky. We promise you will not regret it. - We do not have in-house accommodation for drivers. In case you are coming with a driver, please inform us well in advance so that we can help you make alternate arrangements.
