The Old School House - Roxbury

Welcome to The Old School House! As local lore has it, Roxbury's original school was torn down in the late 1800s and its bones were used to build this farmhouse on 1.25 acres just off the main street. It's a 5-minute walk from Roxbury village, Watershed Cafe, the Good Grocer, a boutique wine store, and restaurants like The Old Mill and Fierce Grizzly. Spring and summer bring hiking, kayaking and golf. In the winter, Platekill is 10 minutes away, and Belleayre or Hunter just under 30. The space This four bedroom, two bathroom farmhouse has all you need for an amazing stay, whether for exploring the Catskills, celebrating a wedding, or remaining local in Roxbury. The ground floor has a large lounge and dining room, home office, and new eat-in kitchen opening to the huge backyard ready for lawn games, or a full-sized cricket pitch. The second floor has a TV/play room perfect for movie nights and board game days. It is surrounded by two large bedrooms with queen-sized beds, and two medium bedrooms with full-sized beds. The primary suite has its own balcony overlooking the mountain and backyard, plus just next to a reading nook by the window there's a washer and dryer you are welcome to use. Elsewhere in the home, the is one full bathroom on each floor, including an original claw-foot bath tub to get your soak on. A large vestibule at the front of the home, and mud room at the back, gives you all the space you may need for essential Catskills gear like kayaks, skis and snow boards, or golf clubs. Guest access Guest can access all the spaces in the main house, unless doors are locked. Please note the detached garage and summer cottage at the back of the property are off-limits for now as they are yet to be renovated.
