Take a break from the noise in this sweet little throwback! An old hunting camp turned family retreat, it’s 1 minute to Potter County Stargazing Tours, 7 to Coudersport Golf Club or Gary’s mini golf, 10 to downtown, 15 to Patterson and Cherry Springs State Parks, 30 to Lyman Run or Sizerville, and an hour to both PA Grand Canyon and Kinzua Bridge. ATV/snowmobile trail at the end of the driveway. Cross county ski in winter, play games indoors or out in summer, enjoy the firepit, grill out, relax! The space Not too big, not too small…it’s just right for couples, small families or as a quiet retreat for one. If visiting with others, it's perfect for feeling “together” on your vacation, but still have some space to yourself. Nobody’s getting lost inside, but there are woods behind and near the cottage and it’s on 6 acres of land to explore. If you’ve booked with Potter County Stargazing Tours, you can actually walk there, but it will probably be chilly on the way back...wear layers, take a blanket. There are plenty of rainy day activities inside, like board games, puzzles, books, cards, Roku TV, etc. If the weather is nice, there’s volleyball, badminton, tetherball, croquet, wiffle ball/hit off the tee…or just swing in the hammocks under the pines. There are four Adirondacks, two “anti-gravity” recliners and three straight back folding chairs available for around the fire pit. A note about AC: The cabin stays nice and cool, even when it’s hot out, so although there are no air conditioning units installed, people have found that they’re not really necessary. We have overhead fans in every room and use dehumidifiers to help keep the air cool as well. Guest access Whole house and outside property. ATTENTION ONE NIGHT BOOKING INTEREST: The calendar is reserved for 2 night bookings or longer. Please message me to request staying one night only. Depending on the date and season, I may be able to accommodate! Other things to note STARGAZERS: Be mindful of the moon phase. If it’s full, the stars will seem faint. There is a window of time (a week or more) before and after the new moon when the skies are darkest. If you’re not sure, just send me a message and I’ll let you know if your dates are a good time to go. TRAIL RIDERS: Those full moon nights are great for booking a stay and the rates are usually a little less than during a new moon window. You can start your ride from the property. Pick up the trail right at the end of the driveway. (See pictures) I don’t stock the refrigerator due to such variation in people’s likes, dislikes and dietary restrictions, but there will usually be flavored seltzers, Capri Suns, sometimes eggs and bread and there will always be ice and condiments in there. I also keep a few snacks like chips or crackers, microwave popcorn and instant oatmeal packs The tap water is from a well, filtered and sterilized with ultraviolet light and tested for impurities.
