210 The Church Room at the City Hall Grand Hotel
Description
Preserved Old City Hall is a historic city landmark with a lot of old stories to tell. Eber Culver, one of Williamsport’s foremost architects, designed the five-story building of yellow brick trimmed in stone with molded brick ornamentation and terra cotta columns. Built in 1893, it features two towers: a large rectangular tower and a smaller octagonal tower, both of which have been incorporated into the hotel’s unique design. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Pla The space A MARKET STREET ROOM - The first Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Williamsport was erected on Pine Street in 1826. They have undergone many changes since their humble beginnings as the city's first brick church. In 1844, 1872 and 1908, a new building replaced the old. Today’s building is the fifth to be constructed across the street from our hotel. After a disastrous fire in 1977, the present building was built in 1980 and a new addition in 1992. Our new “MARKET SQUARE” room is unique with its large windows, soft colors, and “outside-the-box” layout. The private bathroom is brightly lit as well, and the original charm and character of this old city hall add to the beauty of the room. The spacious Market Square Lobby is adjacent to room and offers microwave & Keurig machine.
