The Barn Loft at Magnolia Place Farm
Rustic country life away from the city but close to so much. Located on a 5 acre hobby farm established in 1880, The Loft is a studio apartment with high speed internet, private entrance, bathroom, kitchen, and is the entire 2nd floor of what was once a working barn. Guests are invited to work with us during feedings and The Loft proceeds go toward the upkeep of the farm animals. Hiking, antiquing, and attractions are 30 minutes in every direction or stay home and enjoy a quiet day on the farm. The space Shiplap ceilings and raw wood walls keep the atmosphere rustic but comfortable. Looking out your window, you can watch the goats, cows, emus, chickens, and pigs hang out. Enjoy the barn's deck out back where you can watch the birds, sometimes catch deer walking past, and roast marshmallows at the fire pit. Guests have high speed internet access and can park right next to the barn. Linens are provided for the queen bed and, if needed, a full size air mattress. The space is on the second floor so there are steps leading up to it. There is also a step up onto the barn deck to access those stairs. Guest access You will have access to the back deck of the barn, the woods with walking trails, fire pit area, gas grill, and outside the fenced pastures. We love when guests want to interact with the farm animals, but ask that you don't enter a gated pasture without one of us present. Other things to note Our dogs (4 Great Danes and 3 Great Pyrenees) are very large and very friendly. I always like guests to be prepared for this before they arrive. The Pyrenees are livestock guardian dogs. It is their job to protect the property and the livestock. (Max, our alpha, is usually patrolling throughout the night and you may hear him barking.) The chickens, ducks, emus, and turkey all free range throughout the day so they are "around". We often let the big pigs out to forage cause it helps them keep moving. Anyone staying on the property is welcome to view the animals but please refrain from feeding them or going into the pastures and chicken/duck coops. When walking the property, please be sure to wear shoes that can get really dirty.
