Smoky Hollow Cabin sits on a mountain with its' own, small brook. Our family cabin is not your typical cabin. At 3,300 sq/ft, it is open, spacious with plenty of room for family to gather in different spaces - family room, game room, covered patio/dining, sunroom, or porches. It has furnishings with antiques in every room for rustic, elegant charm. Most importantly, the cabin is NOT in a crowded neighborhood but in a tranquil, wooded setting with other cabins nearby in Wear’s Valley. The space Smoky Mountain National Park is just minutes away! The park entrance at the Metcalf Bottoms is just 5 minutes away and is a great spot to picnic and have some fun in the river. We are located in a beautiful area just 20 minutes to Pigeon Forge and 30 minutes to Gatlinburg. The cabin is family-friendly with two master bedrooms (one king and one queen) with the third bedroom serving as a perfect room for children with two sets of double bunk beds and another full bed). Every piece of furniture and decor was carefully selected so you can feel at home, comfortable, and rested while away from home. Guests need to be able to get up three steps to enter the cabin. The kitchen/living/dining room as well as the king master bedroom and an additional bathroom with shower is located on the main floor. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you need from dishes, glasses, pots and pans, baking supplies, crock pot, pressure cooker, hand mixer, wine opener, mixing bowls, spices and herbs, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, soap, dishwasher detergent, etc. We believe you should be able to go on vacation and have what you need - bring only the food you need, clothes to wear, your personal toiletries, and you are all set! We do operate on the honor system, so if you use the last of something, we kindly ask you to replace it is available for the next guests. The largest porch is on the main level and include four rocking chairs and two hammock chairs. The entrance to the sunroom is through the porch on the main floor and is a wonderful place for the adults to gather for beverages and conversation while the children amuse themselves outside, in the basement gameroom, or on the catwalk. The queen master bedroom is up the lighted stairway (lights come on at night with a switch) along with the catwalk with games and books for older children, and a small, private porch with swing. The bunk bedroom is located in the basement along with the game room, making it the perfect place to keep the children entertained. The covered patio and outdoor dining area with grill and Blackstone griddle are accessible through the basement or two exterior locations. If you want to have some bear sightings, then look no further! Bears often wander about the property and surrounding areas. Beware though and keep your distance - Mama Bears are very protective of their cubs! Stay inside or on the porches and see what wildlife you can see or hear - wild turkeys, bears, chipmunks, coyotes, birds, and more! The cabin is located in Wear's Valley and is 20 minutes from the parkway in Pigeon Forge and 30 minutes from Gatlinburg. You can enjoy the traditional tourist attractions in downtown or enjoy some things off the beaten path as closer to the cabin such as tubing, ziplining, horseback riding, and more. And did we mention yet that we are located just yards away from Smoky Mountain National Park? That's right - just ride over to the National Park, hop on a trail, and see a waterfall in just a few minutes! Sound too good to be true? It is! Find out for yourself and book your stay today. Other things to note The roads to the cabin are NOT scary! The cabin is on a mountain, so the drive does have some curves and slopes but nothing extreme. We do have internet and WiFi available, but please note internet speeds can be slow. There is one internet provider for this somewhat rural area, so there are no options. We apologize if this is an inconvenience, but it is out of our control.
