Bertha - the Shepherd's Hut

Discover gorgeous landscape & views that surrounds this cosy place to stay. Surrounded by wildlife and our horses in a rural location at one with nature. It's completely off grid, so sorry there's no wifi or tv or 3 pin sockets but you are able to charge your phone/tablets. You can walk for miles in the unspoilt countryside. We’re just 10 minutes from Hickstead & half an hour from Brighton if you fancy a trip to the city & beach, but deep in the countryside for an away from it all stay. The space Bertha is not quite a traditional Sheperd’s Hut. It’s extremely warm and cosy inside with a log burner should you feel the need for extra warmth. Bertha is set on the corner of one of our fields - with horses around you and possibly wild deer to be spotted sometimes. Bertha is completely off grid with power supplied from her own solar panels. There are sockets for charging mobile phones and tablets. There is a separate bathroom with shower, basin & toilet. The kitchen area has a fridge, 2 ring gas hob and small oven. Entry is through the double French doors accessed up steps and onto the balcony. Guest access Guests enter the owners yard through double wooden gates, drive through the farm yard then down a stone track to Bertha located at the bottom of a field. There is an area surrounding Bertha which is for guests sole use. Please ensure you close the gates when going in and out at night - thank.you. Other things to note Bertha is accessed via a farm track which may not be suitable for very low vehicles. The entrance door is accessed by 8 steps. Dogs must be kept on a lead. *Charcoal is not provided for the BBQ.
