If you are looking for a comfortable place for your getaway this year, look no further! Located just 12 min from Barry's Bay, this spacious, 4-season waterfront cottage is yours to enjoy. Set far apart, it is one of two cottages rented out on the property. Marvel in the beauty of the pristine water from the screened-in porch. Relax with a book or a cup of tea under the trees near the shoreline. Have a peaceful sleep while listening to the sounds of nature. There is so much to do in the area too. The space Located in the beautiful Madawaska Valley, the property boasts a beautiful shoreline with sandy bottom, and areas of both sun and shade. The property has 2 cottages (1 detached cottage and 1 semi-detached cottage) that are open for vacation rental throughout the year. The two rented cottages are set far apart on the grounds, and a tall hedge creates visual privacy between the two cottages. This listing is for the detached cottage. It has a screened-in porch with views of the lake, a living room, a full kitchen, a dining area, and a 4-piece washroom on the main floor. The 2 spacious bedrooms are upstairs. This cottage is just 30 to 40 steps away from the shoreline. The grounds are shared by the guests of the second cottage, however, this is a large property and separate sitting areas are available by the shoreline for each cottage. Each cottage has access to a separate dock, 2 canoes, 4 kayaks, paddles, (regular size) lifejackets, and a BBQ grill. Guest access The key to your cottage will be kept in a lockbox, and on the day of your check-in, we will send you the code for the lockbox. There is parking on the property for two cars per cottage. We can accommodate more cars but please inform us in advance if you plan to arrive in more than 2 cars. Please note that kayaks and canoes are available only from May 1 to October 15. Please note that the water is cold and weather is unpredictable, and it is your sole responsibility for your own and your friends/families' safety in engaging in such activities. If you have particular needs and expectations re: must have things at the cottage and property, please inquire before booking. Other things to note The price is for 4 guests only. For each additional guest, a fee of $25 per night per guest will be added at the time of booking. No visitors or extra guests allowed without pay. Please also note that the bedrooms are upstairs. Please also note that by booking our cottage, you accept that you and your friends/families' safety in the water and on the grounds and inside the cottage is in your own/their hands. Please note that kayaks and canoes are available only from May 1 to October 25. On Fridays between April 15 and Oct 25, one or two people come to cut grass between 10am and 4pm. He/They usually take about 15 to 20 minutes on the grounds. An important reminder about the use of the outdoor firepit and campfire- If you decide to build a camp fire, please keep it small. If it is WINDY, please do not light a camp fire. We have had no rain at all in Combermere so the trees are very dry, and will catch fire easily. You need to pour water over the firepit and completely douse the fire off before going to sleep. If there is any smoke coming out of the firepit, that means there is still ember left. If it gets windy at night and ember flies on to the nearby trees, this could start a fire and burn down the cottage and also other cottages nearby. There is a bucket near by to get water for the firepit. At least one person has to stay by the fire at ALL times. If you leave the fire unattended even for a little bit, neighbours might call the fire department. Everyone is worried about fire safety. If you do not adhere to the above fire safety instructions and the fire department comes and gives you a fine, you will have to pay the fine. Please note that, for everyone's safety, we have the right to not allow campfire if the weather has been hot and dry for awhile. You are expected to strictly adhere to such requests to ensure your safety, neighbours' safety, and to avoid unnecessary costs, time, and safety for emergency responder staff.
