New desire for country life by the sea
New desire for country life by the sea
Description
The night frosts are passé, the days are finally warm and summery. The rapeseed fields, which until recently were glowing yellow, have now largely faded after the rains, but the bright green leaves have now taken center stage on walks and bike rides. Kiel and the Baltic Sea are also waiting for you, first with the Kieler Woche and soon with the white beaches on the Kiel Fjord. The first bathers are already here. And then the Karl May Games and the SH Music Festival are also enticing. The space Your holiday apartment "Land in Sicht" on the outskirts of Kiel is a rural home with a garden on the western edge of Holstein Switzerland. It can be rented with either one or two rooms. We generate our own electricity and heat through sustainable energy systems. WHERE AM I? The nature typical of the local region, shaped by the Ice Ages, with its many hills and lakes, invites you to go on exciting excursions, bike rides and hikes. Right on site, our holiday guests can embark on the "Schusteracht" and get to know and love this unique natural and cultural experience area. You can learn interesting facts along the way on more than 30 information boards. In our small village, 15 kilometers south of the Fördestadt Kiel and 8 kilometers west of Preetz, only about 160 inhabitants live. Here, our guests will find wonderful walking paths through woods and fields, plenty of fresh air and lots of peace and quiet. Bicycles can be rented for a one-time basic fee of 15 euros with a helmet. Children are allowed to play in the garden and can also use a large playground in the center of the village. Many lakes invite you to swim in the area. Depending on your destination, it takes about 20–30 minutes by car to reach the beaches of the Kiel Fjord or the open Baltic Sea. In addition, Barmissen is also a good starting point for other beautiful destinations, such as all the small Baltic Sea towns along the coast from Flensburg via Schleswig and Eckernförde in the north to Lübeck in the south. And if you want to get to know even more of the sea, you can be at the North Sea in an hour to an hour and a half and enjoy the wave pool and a seemingly endless beach there (use the tide calendar). A special excursion destination awaits fans of Karl May in Bad Segeberg. After a drive of just under half an hour, a beautiful open-air arena awaits you, where the play "Im Tal des Todes" will be performed this summer, with Alexander Klaws in the lead role as Winnetou (online booking recommended). In Kalkberg, it's also worth visiting the bat caves. More information is available to the hosts in word and writing (flyer) at any time. They are also happy to give tips for restaurants on site or in the city. SHED THE STRESS Guests can rest after their excursions in their cosy holiday apartment, which is located on the upper floor of our Schwedenhaus (stairs) and features charming, comfortable furnishings. There are many great games available for all ages. In good weather, the whole garden can be used for relaxation on comfortable loungers, at your own dining table with garden chairs or at the barbecue area with a fire pit. Smoking is also allowed here. The brand-new kitchen is fully equipped and invites you to linger comfortably at the round dining table with a beautiful view of the garden, the countryside and a small lake. The Mediterranean-style shower room features a rain shower, underfloor heating, Italian tiles and rustic wooden elements. There is also a second, lockable guest toilet on the ground floor. High-quality spring-core mattresses ensure a restful night's sleep in bedroom 1. There is also a desk, high-speed fibre optic Wi-Fi and an HD TV. Family room 2 can accommodate up to three adults or two adults with two children/teenagers, with some unconventional sleeping arrangements, such as a French double bed measuring 1.20 x 2.00 m, a bunk bed measuring 1.40 x 2.00 m, and a cosy alcove with a single bed measuring 0.90 x 2.00 m. There is also an additional workstation (or alternatively a make-up or drawing table) with fast Wi-Fi. Blackout blinds ensure undisturbed sleep and protect against heat or cold. With its two workstations and two dining tables, the holiday apartment is also ideal for a workation with several colleagues – or, in keeping with the trend, as a location for a coolcation (a holiday in the cooler regions of Europe) during hot weather. Guests can rent the holiday apartment according to their personal needs – with 1–2 people in the 1-room apartment with a kitchen and bathroom, as well as a wonderful view over the fields, for a base price of 69 euros/night. If you need more space for yourself or are coming with friends or children, register for at least 3 people and enjoy a second large living-cum-bedroom with several beds, a sofa corner with an electric fireplace, and a dining table for up to six people. For each guest from the 3rd person, 25 euros will be added to the base price. Price example for three guests: 69 euros + 25 euros = 94 euros/night; for four guests 119 euros. Special conditions are available on request for a family with more than two children. Guest access If the hosts are actually prevented from welcoming their new guests personally, an external key system is now available. Our guests also receive their own house and apartment keys and can access the separate one- or two-room apartment on the upper floor freely and independently of the host. Access is not barrier-free (staircase). Other things to note Travelling without a car: For guests who would like to arrive by train, we offer a free shuttle service to Kiel or Preetz. You can rent bicycles cheaply on site at your holiday home. Cheap golfing: At the Havighorst Golf Club in Kiel, very close to us, there are affordable rates for trial lessons in the midst of a uniquely beautiful landscape. You can get there in just 5 minutes by car or 15 minutes by bike. Equipment is provided on site. Gateway to Scandinavia: From our location, guests can easily take ferries from Kiel to Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway and also Lithuania) as well as cruise ships. In the neighbouring town, there is a covered and guarded car park for vehicles of all kinds, specially designed for this purpose, as well as a shuttle service to the ferry terminals in the port of Kiel and to the cruise ships (with return transfer). You will receive information about this directly by email as part of an Airbnb pre-booking enquiry with the host of "Land in Sicht". Dine to your heart's content: Thanks to our proximity to Kiel, but also to cosy small towns such as Flintbek, Preetz, Plön or Malente, as well as municipalities such as Bissee, Schönhorst or Nettelsee, there are a large number of popular country inns, restaurants, specialty restaurants, bars and cafés, for which we are happy to provide specific tips.
