Our hand built cabin is perfect for a rustic romantic getaway. Situated in a gorgeous little hamlet high in the hills only 25 minutes to Hobart and 25 minutes to the Huon Valley. An indoor fire place, warm bedding, fire pit, hot shower, basic kitchen and eco compost toilet. 28 acres shared with only one other cabin with total privacy. Relax by the fire after a day at Salamanca Markets in Hobart or a trip to a Huon Valley winery.. Breakfast with local produce available on request. The space Our little off-grid cabin was hand built from 100% recycled materials. A unique, eco and cosy space with a fireplace, furnished with upcycled vintage and eclectic furniture that creates a groovy space to escape everyday life and give you a taste of simple living in a time long passed. A basic hand built kitchen with cast iron cookware to use either inside the kitchen or outside on the gas BBQ or fire pit. A double futon bed with 100% cotton bedding and warm goose down feather quilt. Listen to vinyl records or strum the in house Uke or guitar around the camp fire. We are creative people and hope to inspire our guests to also be creative during their stay. A lovely stone floor bathroom with compost toilet and hot shower. Beautiful big outdoor fire pit to sit around and take in the view to the Hartz Mountains and breathe some of the cleanest air in the world. Explore the 28 acre property with exquisite Tasmanian native flora and fauna , open paddocks, a beautiful tree lined dam and very secret creek walk with a secret resident platypus!. On request, we can offer a seasonal private local winery tour which consists of 3-4 local award winning Huon Valley cellar door tastings and 1 cider house tasting. $200 per person. Guest access There are two accommodation options on the property and the off-grid Cabin is completely private and has its own private entry. Directions supplied after booking. Other things to note As this is a cabin in the Bush it’s important to respect the wildlife and wear appropriate clothing when exploring. Fires are not permitted during a fire ban or fire permit season. Please ask if unsure. At times both cabins on the property might be booked at the same time. Although 28 acres is a large area to explore we ask that you respect each other’s privacy. Please don’t hesitate in contacting me if you’d like to book both cabins.
