You’ll feel miles away from it all, secluded, and peaceful, yet just minutes from the very best of the Hudson Valley The space Welcome to Your Peaceful Getaway in the Shawangunks! Just two hours from New York City, this serene retreat is tucked away at the end of a quiet residential street at the base of the Shawangunk Mountains. Surrounded by forest and mountain views, it offers a true escape from the pace of city life, peaceful, private, and immersed in nature. Originally our full-time home during the pandemic, the house is thoughtfully equipped with everything a family could need. Now enjoyed as our weekend retreat, we’ve paid close attention to every detail to ensure a comfortable, easy, and stress-free stay for our guests. The Home: Inside, the space blends modern comfort with rustic warmth. Natural light pours in throughout, highlighting forest views from nearly every room. The home features: Three spacious bedrooms Three full bathrooms + a powder room A studio/playroom upstairs A private gym in basement A fully equipped chef’s kitchen The kitchen is stocked with cookware, bakeware, spices, oils, vinegar, and French press w/ coffee and tea, and sugar provided. Fresh linens, bath towels, and pool towels are included. Nest thermostats offer zoned climate control for both the main floor and upstairs. Outdoor Living: Step outside to explore 20 acres of peaceful woodland. Swim, wander, climb, or simply relax and listen to the sounds of nature. Outdoor amenities include: Fire pit with seating and a stocked woodshed Hammock and tree swing Climbing dome for kids Spacious deck with Restoration Hardware teak furniture Large Green Egg grill with pizza stone Wildlife sightings are common and memorable deer, wild turkeys, owls, woodpeckers, hawks, eagles, and cardinals regularly pass through the property. The Pool: The private, fenced-in pool area is safely gated and set down a gentle slope for complete seclusion. The space includes teak lounge furniture, umbrellas, a kids’ sandbox, and pool toys. The pool house is equipped with Wi-Fi, a refrigerator, sink, prep area, towels, and sunscreen for your convenience. Please note: The pool is not heated. It is open from early June through the end of September. This is a home designed to slow down and reconnect, morning coffee on the deck, afternoons in the woods or by the pool, evenings by the fire, and star-filled nights in total quiet. Guest access Guests have full access to the main home, including basement where the washer and dryer is located. There is also a small home gym in the basement including Life Fitness Elliptical, mats, weights, bench, punching bag & gloves, battle ropes, rollers & bands. The only areas locked off are a walk in closet in the upstairs child room & pantry behind the kitchen. The alarm system is not for guests use. ***POOL IS NOT HEATED*** Other things to note There is a separate guest house located approximately 100 yards in front of the main home (see photos). It is a completely separate rental with its own driveway. Guests there do not have access to any part of the main house property, including the driveway, front lawn, backyard, or pool area. The guest house accommodates a maximum of two guests and is typically rented on weekends by couples seeking a quiet getaway. It does not impact the privacy of the main home, and its location is toward the front of the property, while all main house activities and outdoor spaces are situated at the back.
