You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place. Located in Gowlland Harbour on Quadra Island, Jade Resort is a whimsical place to stay. 10 suites are built into the hillside overlooking the water. Relax and watch the tide shift from your comfortable space. Minutes to beaches, trails, and Rebecca Spit Provincial Park. In each suite, you'll find a monocular to scope out the harbor. There are no TVs in the suites - an intentional choice to highlight the gorgeous views. The space A beautiful clean and updated suite that sleeps 2. This suite has a private viewing deck that’s amazing for sunrises and sunsets and provides a full ocean view. From inside the suite there is a partial ocean view. Enter through a large sliding glass door and find a fully equipped kitchen with brand new appliances (oven, fridge, microwave, coffee machine) & a bathroom with everything you need(stand up shower only). Enjoy a restful sleep on the brand new king-sized memory foam mattress and wake up to a gorgeous naturescape. We offer locally roasted coffee in each suite for your convenience and enjoyment. Eco-friendly dish and hand soaps, as well as locally-crafted body soap is also provided. This suite is located on the ground level, which means there may be guests staying in the chalet above. You might hear footsteps or water rushing upstairs. Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am. If you require total silence, we recommend booking a chalet instead. This resort is family-friendly and pet friendly. The layout lends itself to socializing with others as there are 3 common bbq areas and a wide waterfront. Access to most suites are along a shared outdoor corridor. Bring your paddleboard, canoe or kayak - you can launch it from the oceanfront and explore the harbour, or raft up and float with your new friends. In each suite, you'll find a monocular to scope out the harbor. There are no TVs in the suites - an intentional choice to highlight the gorgeous views. This resort was originally built in the 70’s and has some creaks and cracks. It is being brought back to life after a 3 year closure and improvements are still being made. There is no loud equipment or construction noise, but the managers are painting, renovating, and updating units one at a time. The quirks: There is a sunken house just off the dock! It has been attracting curious kayakers and boat traffic, because it’s quite the site. Currently the otters use it as a playground. It’s weird and cool, come see it before it’s gone. The suites do not have screens on the windows and they are not necessary. There are very few bugs here - the ocean breeze keeps them away. We realized that the screens are easily destroyed by our furry friends (we love them, but the screens do not). We want to keep as much material out of landfills as possible so this is a conscious choice to waste less. Another plus - the ocean views are crisp and clear without a screen in the way. We do not provide tiny toiletries bottles. This is a conscious decision to keep thousands of plastic bottles out of the landfill and out of the oceans. We do provide locally-made body soap, biodegradable handsoap, and biodegradable dish soap. There is no parking right beside the suites. Guests can offload their gear 10-20 steps away from their front door. Parking is located onsite at the top of the hill. We explain it all in our check in detail package. All guests have access to the oceanfront BBQ area and rocky beach. The property is on a hill so it may not be suitable for those mobility challenges. Feel free to contact us for extra details. Guest access Shared beachfront access and various seating nooks where you can catch a view. The beach is rocky, but the water's great! Other things to note This suite is perfect for singles or a couple. A small child could fit at no additional charge but you'd need to bring your own crib and bedding. The marina is under repair and holds an old sunken house just off the dock! It has been attracting curious kayakers and boat traffic, because it’s quite the site to see. The government is working on getting it removed so the marina can be updated and functional, but it’s sitting on the ocean floor for now. It’s weird and cool, come see it before it’s gone! We welcome well-behaved furry friends for an additional charge. To ensure everyone's comfort, pets must be kept on leash, as not all guests are comfortable around animals. This also helps keep our grounds clean and ensures owners are responsible for picking up after their pets. Please be sure to notify us if you're bringing a pet by adding them to your reservation.
