ESCAPE TO THE HIDEOUT! Experience relaxation and the amazing view of the Black River from the newly built Hideout. It's tucked amongst towering trees and surrounded with large boulders. The river side of the Hideout has a wall of mostly glass with sliding doors to view the river in a rustic romantic Adirondack style. A new trail carved into the hillside leads to the river. The off the grid cabin has solar power. Come, relax, unwind at this very private romantic cabin. The Hideout awaits you! Located at the Adirondack foothills, a short distance from Old Forge, the Hideout is a unique very private "off the grid" place perched atop a high spot with an amazing view overlooking the Black River. A wrap around deck is a private and relaxing place to view the Black River, breathe fresh air and decompress from life's pressures. Enjoy the beauty of relaxing on the river in Adirondack chairs. A newly created trail carved out of the side of a hill takes you right to river's edge. Solar power and a battery pack provide the ability to perk your coffee or make tea, and charge your cell phones or laptop and also run a CPAP machine. We provide a "Welcome Package" that consists of a limited supply of Chinet dinner plates, cutlery, napkins, Chinet beverage cups, coffee filters, and disposable cutting boards. A 5-cup Mr. Coffee coffeemaker is there for you to enjoy your favorite coffee or tea. Don't forget to bring your favorite coffee or tea to brew. Although the Hideout is not a tree house, it has a totally different look and feel to it. There is a beautiful knotty pine interior with sliding doors opening to the wrap around deck to view the peaceful river. Large windows overlook the river and brighten the interior. It is located on 19 acres of private wooded land bordered by the Black River shared only with one other place and not even in sight. Large boulders greet you upon arriving at the unique spot. The Hideout has a very welcoming and cozy romantic feeling for you to relax and enjoy nature. Solar lights are used at the Hideout inside and out. It was designed, built and landscaped by the owner in an Adirondack style. A fire pit and picnic area with a gas grill overlook the river. Large boulders are featured around the site as part of the landscaping The outdoor bathroom area consists of a brand new professionally maintained clean port-a-john with a hand washing station with fresh towels at a short distance from the deck. There is also a "camp style shower" which consists of two shower bags of water heated by the sun. The water bags are gravity fed which is like standing in the rain. This means that there is no guarantee on how warm or cool the shower may be but it's the fun of taking a private shower in the great outdoors. We call it a "cool experience". For those who are looking for total relaxation and connecting nature, this is for you. Walking trails and roads on the property are there for you to explore. We strive to have extremely professionally well maintained facilities for our guests. Our goal is for our guests to have an enjoyable, relaxing stay in nature so they can decompress from life's pressures. Entire place We are available by phone or text. The Hideout overlooking the river is located on 19 acres of wooded private land. There are only two rentals on this land and not in sight of one another granting each place its own privacy. Guest parking is right outside of the entrance. No children or animals are allowed due to the sharp bank of the river.
