【Koochi】Traditional Machiya facing the Asano River

Located in the Kazuemachi Chaya district, which is designated as a national Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. Built in 1898, this Machiya house retains its quaintness and is decorated in a modern style, mixing interiors from various nationalities and eras. "Kazuemachi" is a quiet town, not crowded with tourists. Please relax in the calming atmosphere of the traditional Japanese room, unwind in the authentic ‘hinoki’ wood bathtub made of fragrant cypress. The space The machiya features a study with an impressive wooden window on the first floor, a fully equipped kitchen with cookware and tableware, a dining room, and a toilet; on the second floor is one Japanese-style room, veranda and a bathroom with a large hinoki cypress bath. Bedding is provided by three futons from "Ishitaya", a bedding store in Kanazawa with a 100-year history, for the best sleeping comfort. The room can accommodate up to 3 people, but please note that when 3 people stay in the room, the distance between futons will be closer (The distance between 3 futons is shown in the picture.). Guest access Due to legal regulations, the 3rd floor is not accessible to visitors. Other things to note ▼As the inn is located in a Chaya district, the sounds of shamisen, drums, and flutes played by geiko may be heard from daytime until 11:00 p.m., but please understand this as a tasteful experience. Wooden Machiya share a wall with both neighbors, and sound is easily transmitted from one side to the other. Please keep quiet, especially at night and early in the morning. ▼The Chaya district is designated as a national Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
