The cottage is in a perfect location to enjoy river and country walks around beautiful Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, pub lunches and fabulous restaurant meals. A peaceful 10-minute walk along the Thames River Path will take you to the Boathouse Bar and Restaurant overlooking the river at Boulter’s Lock, and just a little further on toward Taplow, one finds the Roux Brothers’ Skindles Brasserie. The pretty village of Cookham, with its numerous pubs and restaurants, is half an hour’s walk away or just 5 minutes’ drive. The town centre of Maidenhead is an easy 40 minutes’ walk or 8-minute drive away, where the High Street provides every kind of shop, including a Waitrose, M&S and Boots, and plenty of good restaurants, cafes and pubs. Beautiful Royal Windsor and its famous castle is a mere 15 minutes’ drive away, and the picturesque riverside towns of Henley, famous for its annual regatta, and Marlow, with its art galleries and Michelin-starred restaurant are also 15 or 20 minutes away. Heston Blumenthal’s 3-Michelin-starred “Fat Duck” restaurant at Bray is a mere 7 minutes’ drive. Maidenhead and Taplow railway stations are equidistant, with frequent trains to London or Reading – Taplow to Bond Street on the Elizabeth Line can take as little as 45 minutes.
