The Cellar @Lively Farm
The Cellar @Lively Farm a Family Friendly Hobby Farm Stay
Enjoy our little slice of hobby farm heaven nestled among the old-growth forest along Chehalem Creek. You'll experience the beauty of nature, the antics of our goats, chickens, rabbits, geese, ducks, and quail, and the charm of downtown Newberg. Our secluded neighborhood offers the perfect area for walking, running, or bike riding, and the wineries of Dundee are so close! Be warned that we live on the edge of the forest. Owls, deer, raccoons, squirrels, possums, and foxes frequent our yard. Please note that people and animals live here. You will hear geese, roosters, goats, dogs, ducks, children, owls, and possibly other wildlife. It is a lovely place, but it is not quiet. It is called Lively Farm because it is exactly that. If you need absolute quiet, this is not the space for you. Please do not book a stay and then complain about hearing people and animals. Park on the far right side of the driveway. Follow the cement stairs to your lodging. The pathway is lighted until midnight. The lockbox code will be sent before your scheduled check-in. We cannot accommodate early check-in or late check-out. Please help us achieve a balance between quick turnaround and harmonious guest experiences. If you arrive early, you might catch the elves in action, and they DO NOT like to be seen or to be rushed. We live upstairs. You might see us in the yard, in the driveway, or tending the animals. We're happy to help you feed the goats, collect eggs, hold a rabbit so you can feel its silky soft fur, or answer questions if you're interested. Just let us know. Secluded, very private neighborhood with paved roads but no sidewalks. Neighbors frequently walk and ride bikes. Very friendly. Please drive 15 mph or slower. My house is located at the West end of Newberg ... 1.7 miles from George Fox University, 1.4 miles from the Four Graces 4.3 miles from Torii Mor 8.4 miles from Penner-Ash 9.7 miles from the St. Paul Rodeo 7.9 miles from Devonwood Equestrian Center and less than a mile from Newberg's fun shops and restaurants Please do not expect silence. We and our animals live here, and our grandchildren visit often. We call this Lively Farm because it is exactly that. However, we carefully honor quiet hours and hope you will, too.
