Happy Stones retreat - Rose

Located at an elevation of 2710 ft on the southern flank of the magnificent Sri Lanka Hill Country, Happy Stones is a holiday sanctuary and a work retreat. This ‘hideaway’ offers stunning panoramic views and a lovely homely feel that is perfect for relaxation. Here you can enjoy scenic vistas over rolling hills and valleys, a green lawn and garden, good WiFi (20 gb per day), a sizeable outdoor pool, delightful nearby adventure walks and, should you prefer, meals prepared on request. The space Happy Stones is located 200 m up our private winding drive past a waterfall. The boutique hotel comprises a large single-storey house, two hillside cottages situated 50-70 m to the west of the main house, and two cottages located further down the drive. Inside the main house are three large bedrooms each with a private bathroom. These rooms are called Rose, Lavender and Jasmine after my favourite flowers! The house also contains a sizeable kitchenette, dining area and living room. Outside are the main kitchen, outdoor eating areas, patio and verandah. As you approach the main house you will notice the large green lawn, the outdoor pool, and the fine panoramic views that extend below you to the south. The Rose family bedroom is located at the east end of the main house and has lovely southward views from its window. Guest access Guests will have access to the following rooms, spaces and facilities: 1. The Rose family bedroom and ensuite full bathroom. This comprises Bedroom 1 (with king-size bed) that is 17 ft by 15 ft in size, Bedroom 2 (with bunk bed and sofa bed) that is 10 ft by 10 ft in size, and the bathroom that is 15 ft by 7 ft in size. 2. The outdoor wood-fire kitchen (for meal preparation, cooking and, if desired, eating). 3. The indoor kitchen area. 4. The indoor dining area (which has seating for six people). 5. The living room and HD TV (which has seating for four people). 6. The patio and verandah (for sitting and outdoor dining). 7. The lawn and garden. 8. The outdoor pool of size 25 ft by 10 ft (depth 3 ft to 5.5 ft). 9. The large fully-equipped gym (located 200 m west of the main house near to road gate entrance). The cost to use is 1500 Rs per person per session (lasting up to 3 hours). 10. The washing machine. The cost per wash load is 1000 Rs. Guests have free use of unlimited good Wifi. We provide a free 20-page Guide called "Five Great Walks from Happy Stones" to inspire and assist you in undertaking stunning adventure walks nearby. Please note that spaces and facilities (2) to (10) may be shared with other guests. Other things to note 1. Meals on request Airbnb bookings are for self-catering accommodation (where you prepare your own meals). However, you are welcome at any point to request meals to be prepared and served by our staff. Either an individual meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) or all meals can be provided on request subject to ordering in advance. We offer vegetarian, Sri Lankan and western cuisines. Our menu and prices are included in the 'House Manual' that confirmed guests can see before they check in. Meals are served on the Happy Stones verandah but may also be provided in your room if preferred. Settlement for 'meals made on request' is due before you depart and should be done either by cash payment or by account transfer. 2. Five great walks from Happy Stones: Walking is a great activity for your physical and mental health. Furthermore, walking is the best way to experience the captivating 'real' Sri Lanka that occurs away from the main tourist attractions. Happily, Happy Stones is well-located for stunning adventure walks! If you are experiencing aches, tiredness or stress, a refreshing Ayurvedic treatment or Ayurvedic body massage with warm herbal oils may well jejuvenate you!
