You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place. Nestled in Gowlland Harbour on Quadra Island, Jade Resort is a whimsical place to stay. Our 10 private suites, built into the hillside, overlook the water. Relax and watch the tide shift from your private balconies. Minutes to beaches, trails, and Rebecca spit Provincial Park. In each suite, you'll find a monocular to scope out the harbour. There are no TVs in the suites - an intentional choice to highlight the gorgeous views. The space This chalet offers stunning ocean views of Gowlland Harbour, perfect for couples or families seeking to enjoy the beauty of Quadra Island. Conveniently located near ferries, a shopping center, and Rebecca Spit, this chalet ensures easy access to all the island’s attractions. The 2-story curved A-frame building, designed like the bow of a ship, boasts unique architecture with its curved walls. Accommodating up to 4 guests, it features a private entrance, open-concept kitchen/living/dining area, large sliding glass door balcony, and a 4-piece bathroom (tub/shower combo) on the main level. Upstairs, you'll find 2 queen beds and a smaller balcony with ocean views. All kitchen appliances and memory foam mattresses are brand new as of 2023. To highlight the harbour and wildlife views, there are no TVs in the suites. Locally roasted coffee, biodegradable Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and dish soaps are provided for your convenience. Please note the stairs to the loft are steep. If mobility is an issue, please reach out or consider renting a king studio suite, located below each chalet and at ground level. All guests have access to the wide water front, common BBQ areas, and rocky beach. The resort is family-friendly and pet-friendly. The layout encourages socializing with three common BBQ areas and a wide waterfront. Access to most suites is along a shared outdoor corridor. Rent one of our kayaks or stand up paddleboards for $10/hr or bring your paddleboard, canoe, or kayak to launch from the water front- explore the harbour, or float with new friends. **The Quirks** *No Window Screens* There are no screens on the windows as the ocean breeze keeps bugs away. This conscious choice reduces waste and keeps ocean views crisp and clear. *No Tiny Toiletry Bottles* To minimize plastic waste, we do not provide small toiletry bottles. Instead, we offer refillable bottles of biodegradable shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and dish soap. *Parking* There is no parking right beside the suites. Loading zones are near the resort and guests can offload their gear 10-20 steps from their front door, with long term parking located onsite at the top of the hill, near the entrance of Jade. Detailed instructions are provided in our check-in package. Contact us if you have mobility issues. *Views* Be sure to review the photos of the specific suite you are reserving as each is unique. Guest access Shared beachfront access and various seating nooks where you can catch a view. The beach is rocky, but the water's great! Other things to note This suite is perfect for singles, a couple or family. A small child could fit at no additional charge but you'd need to bring your own crib and bedding. Please note there is no baby gate in the loft space. The marina is under repair and holds an old sunken house just off the dock! It has been attracting curious kayakers and boat traffic, because it’s quite the site to see. The federal government is working on getting it removed so the marina can be updated and functional, but it’s sitting on the ocean floor for now. It’s weird and cool, come see it before it’s gone! We welcome well-behaved furry friends for an additional charge. To ensure everyone's comfort, pets must be kept on leash, as not all guests are comfortable around animals. This also helps keep our grounds clean and ensures owners are responsible for picking up after their pets. Please be sure to notify us if you're bringing a pet by adding them to your reservation.
