Tranquil Cottage - North Yorkshire Moors

Little Garth is the ideal haven from which to achieve that perfect cottage 'get-away-from-it- all'. Country trails for hiking, walking or cycling in the North Yorkshire National Park, meandering around markets, quirky shops, tea rooms or coastal strolls and relaxing on the sandy beaches with stunning views of the coast. Or perhaps historical sites are more your bag with Whitby Abbey, Castle Howard and the beautiful City of York with its Minster. The choice, as they say, is yours! The space Little Garth is nestled in the charming village of Normanby, set back well back from the road in a peaceful village setting with the 12th c. chapel and churchyard just in view from the cottage. Walk through to the parlour with quaint cast iron range and comfy reading chair with well stocked bookcase and information full of ideas of where to explore. Pass the downstairs 'cloakroom' with facilities and down a small step to the fully equipped kitchen. Amply stocked with appliances including a blender for that morning smoothie or how about a toastie from the panni maker? We aim to have that home-from-home feeling once you arrive and have tried to think of most things required. (We even have a few complimentary essentials just in case you forget that toothbrush!) The kitchen leads into the garden room with dining for upto 6 people or use the airy light space for any hobbies you may have, but hopefully not work! Leading into the garden through the back door you can enjoy alfresco eating in the warmer months, stoke up the BBQ and sit back and relax on the patio. For those cooler evenings fire up the Hacienda Fire and watch the various hanging lights make a magical appearance! Perhaps you are more energetic for one of our games swingball, croquet or boules? Time for a relax in front of the large flatscreen TV? Kick back your shoes and sink into the ample Chesterfield in the cosy, quaint lounge. During the colder months the cast iron range provides warmth and glow while you sip that nightcap after a day out exploring. Up the stairs leads to a fully equipped new bathroom with rose shower head with sliding doors over the bath and de-misting mirror, large vanity unit for all those pampering necessities and complimentary shampoo, shower gel and soap. In the Master bedroom sink into the sumptuous king sized bed with views of the private front garden and large flatscreen TV for that late night movie! Bedroom Two overlooks the secluded garden with view of fields and you often can see sheep or horses grazing happily away. A king size bed gives ample room to comfortably stretch out at the end of a day. Room Three is the very quaint snug bedroom, again with views over the secluded front garden and a windowsill seat from which to watch the world go by. Here we have the provision of a single day bed with optional trundle bed underneath (both have mattresses. We suggest the second pull out bed be used for a child rather than an adult.
