The Cottage

Enjoy a countryside break on a family run, working farm. Our holiday cottage is perfect for those hoping to enjoy a restful break. Alston town is a few minutes drive from the farm with many wonderful local businesses and things to do. We are close to the lake District, the Roman wall, the Pennine way which is only 300 metres away from our yard and the South Tyne rail route. The space The cottage is a renovated barn, sitting within the main farm yard. It has a spacious open-plan downstairs area with a well equipped kitchen. Dining and sitting area with a cosy log burner. There is a handy wet room style bathroom downstairs. Upstairs the cottage has a main bathroom and three bedrooms, with the master bedroom leading to a walk in wardrobe and an en suite. There is a double room, a single room and a bedroom with the option of a double or 2 single beds. Each room has space for travel cots. Guest access The cottage is in the main farm yard and can be a busy place. Our guests can access the large private garden freely but we respectfully ask that you don't wander into the fields or the farm buildings. The farmhouse sits next door and has its own private garden. We also run a children's nursery- which has a separate entrance but can be seen from the yard. This is not accessible to guests. The nursery do run forest school clubs at times during the summer for children, and could be available during your stay. Other things to note We can provide high chairs and stay gates if needed. We don't yet provide travel cots but each room has space for them.
