This well built brick home is situated in a quiet neighborhood with access to Crooked Lake from the canal in the back yard. Whether you just need a comfortable place to stay or are looking for some fun on the water, we think this house will meet your expectations! It is also situated in the center of the state, a short drive to either coast and most of Florida's amusement parks. It is also very close to Lake Wales airport for skydiving and paramotoring, Legoland, and Bok Tower Gardens. The space This spacious brick home is located on a quiet neighborhood street. The back yard faces a wide canal that leads to one of the cleanest and most beautiful lakes in Central Florida, Crooked Lake. We strive to create a clean, fresh, relaxing place for our guests to stay. Our second property is also on Airbnb and in this neighborhood: "Lake Access, Canal Front Crooked Lake Gem". The house has three living areas each with comfortable power reclining leather seating. The large galley kitchen is adjacent to the dining area and family room. It has all of the large appliances one would expect. A full-sized washer and dryer are located in the house at the far end of the kitchen. The three bedrooms are furnished with just what you need for a comfortable stay. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the corner bedroom has a king Serta Black Beautyrest mattress, and the front bedroom has a queen bed. The house also has a double garage and carport for parking in the shade, or plenty of room for a boat trailer. The BEST part of the house, in our opinion, is the waterfront location leading to the lake. Crooked Lake is listed as one of Florida’s Outstanding waters and is a large lake, over 4,000+ acres. It is a favorite fishing destination for local and traveling fisherman. The perimeters of vegetation and brush around this lake make excellent cover and habitat for largemouth bass. Bring your boat and fishing gear to discover why Florida has been described as the “Bass Capital of the World”. Other freshwater game fish to try for are specs, bluegills, shell crackers and catfish. Many fishermen enjoy a peaceful evening of night fishing for specs! Other lakes in the general area are Lake Kissimmee, Lake Walk-in-the-Water, Lake Clinch and Lake Reedy. In addition to fishing, Crooked lake is known as a great lake for swimming, water skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding.... just about anything to do with water. It is just a great lake! There are two boat ramps on the lake, one public (on Little Crooked Lake) with no charge and one private (Bob's Landing), with a small charge (take cash). Bring your boat and you can park it right behind the house when you aren't out fishing, boating or swimming! For those that love theme parks, the Orlando theme parks are only an hour away.... Walt Disney World, Epcot, MGM studios, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld. Legoland in Winter Haven is a twenty-minute drive. And Busch Gardens in Tampa is 1hr 15min away. Nearby cities are Lake Wales, Winter Haven, Lakeland, Auburndale, Haines City, Frostproof and Bartow. For a dip in the salt water, this home is in the center of the state, a short trip to either of Florida's coasts...the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. Our area also boasts natural trails for hiking and beautiful Bok Tower Gardens. Two trails worth noting are the Crooked Lake Prairie and the Circle Bar B Ranch in Lakeland. Some favorite local restaurants are Crazy Fish (casual seafood), Melanie's Seafood Kitchen (downtown Lake Wales), The Crooked Bass Grill and Tavern, Frostbite (cute diner with hand dipped ice cream), and L'Incantro Italian restaurant. The Ranch – Brew and Tap Room has just recently opened downtown and everyone loves it. It has pastries and such at breakfast time, a small lunch menu with home made items like chicken salad, and appetizers at dinner time. We’ve only been to lunch, but everyone loved it.
