Helen’s Garden House is a modern sophisticated and luxurious home, located on Rizwan Bagh - a private estate of the late Helen & Pomi Wallia, renowned for entertaining & fabulous food! Looking out on to the Ahmedabad palace with multiple sit outs, this home has five luxurious bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a living room, family lounge, an 8-seater dining room, outdoor dining areas, a gym, and a spacious indoor kitchen and outdoor kitchen. The space HOME FEATURES: The central feature of the home is a huge Gulmohar tree, an umbrella over the entire garden with a sit out and dining table below it, perfect for cocktails, lounging around, reading a book, or having a spot of tea. Or even cozy up around the wood burning fireplace in the winter. The interior of the house is contemporary with Italian marble floors and modern European style furniture in the bedrooms. The walls are adorned with beautiful art collected over the years by Helen Wallia. ABOUT RIZWAN BAGH: Rizwan Bagh was formerly Nawab Hamiduallah Khan’s mango orchard and was used as his personal Akhada/Gym. Situated below the main Ahmedabad Palace, it was once cultivated as a fruit orchard by the last Nawab. Each tree was said to have been personally planted by him - the famous local mangoes of Rizwan Bagh are coveted and legendary among the old Bhopal families. ABOUT RIZWAN BAGH STUDIOS: Rizwan Bagh Studios is a film studio located in the heart of Bhopal where many movies and web series have been shot over the years. Formerly the home to Prakash Jha Productions where he produced some of his most famous films like Aarakshan, Satyagraha, Apaharan, and Lipstick Under My Burkha. ABOUT HELEN WALLIA: A true patron of the arts with her impeccable sense of design and style, Helen Wallia was a well-known public figure in Bhopal. She was an art collector who ran an art fund in Mumbai and Bhopal. Part of her collection is showcased in the house. One of her endeavours was to revive the art of aari and zardozi embroidery and she established a workshop on the estate. These crafts were exported to large fashion houses and department stores all over the world. Old Bhopal families came to her to design their daughters’ custom bridal trousseaus.
