Forest cottage in Petrópolis

With a treehouse feel, Chalé Saíra is located at Sítio dos Ipês in the forest neighborhood of Rocio in Petrópolis, 90 minutes from RJ. In the midst of the Atlantic Forest, at an altitude of 1,300 meters, between 2 biological reserves and 2 rivers on the grounds. Large balcony, full kitchen, laundry area, fireplace, TV and good internet. It has a bathroom with a sink separated from the shower, which is gas heated. It has hot water in the kitchen sink and washbasin, 1 bedroom with a double bed and 1 mezzanine with a comfortable sofa bed. The space Sítio dos Ipês has a fire pit area, a short walk to one of the rivers on the property where there is a natural water well and a small waterfall. It is possible to explore the terrain by walking through the forest. In the region, there is a trail to the peak of Bonet (+- 45min. medium level), where there is a wonderful view of the region's mountain ranges and a view of Rio de Janeiro on clear days. Sunset hike in Roncador (+- 30 min. easy level), with a view from the top to a landscape of the valley and mountains in the background to Miguel Pereira. Poço Negro Waterfall, with a 10-meter drop and a large pool for swimming. Among other restaurants in the region, we have the Trutas do Rocio restaurant. Guest access Guests can feel free to enjoy the entire grounds, such as the river, the fire pit area, and can explore and hike in the middle of the Atlantic Forest. Other things to note After following Rocio's paved main road for about 20 minutes, you will have 2 km, about 10 minutes of dirt road in the middle of the Atlantic Forest. Special places like this are not found on the edge of the asphalt. The dirt road is generally quiet, with the worst stretches having been paved. Passenger cars can get there, but lowered or very low cars will have difficulty. There is no cellular signal, only Wi-Fi in the Chalet. It is important to bring your own food, because as it is a forest neighborhood, there are no shops nearby.
