Description
Make some memories by the sea at this cosy, family-friendly cottage. The space Located on Shell Hill, on the Fisherhead side of Robin Hood’s Bay, Sea Holly Cottage is a beautifully refurbished fisherman’s cottage, originating from the mid 18th century, when smuggling was rife in the village. Sleeping up to 4 people (with the option of a cot for babes in arms), but also perfect for a couple, this cosy 3 storey cottage is less than a minute’s walk from the beach and affords fabulous views out to sea from the main bedroom’s dorma windows. As you enter Sea Holly cottage, you will find the open plan living room / kitchen, at the heart of which nestles a log burner stove. Hosting everything you need for a comfortable stay with a snug corner sofa and dining table for up to 4. There’s also a smart TV, microwave and an filter coffee machine. Sea Holly Cottage is within quick and easy walking distance from the hubbub of all the main village shops and restaurants. The perfect base for a beach or walking holiday. Please be aware that the cottage does not have a dishwasher. Guest access Sea Holly Cottage has a useful outhouse opposite the cottage which we hope will become our “Rainy Day Den” during 2023. In the meantime, it’s a great space for storing luggage, wellies or beach gear and there’s a washing machine in there too. Other things to note Due to the location of the cottage in the lower Bay Area, there is no parking. Two council car parks can be found at the top of the village, Bank Top or Station car park (these car parks are free to use during the winter months) It is no longer possible to book a temporary parking pass the Old School House Fisherhead car park. However, Bay Taxis do offer a cheap and reliable service for those not wanting to take luggage up and down the hill. Pets: Please note Sea Holly is not pet-friendly. You must not bring a pet to stay with you and may be refused access if you do. Children: Babes-in-arms are welcome to the property but please note the cottage has two steep staircases and no stair gates, so could be a hazard for toddlers. There is a travel cot available but you will need to bring your own bedding for this. Damage: Our property is maintained to an extremely high standard and we respectfully remind guests to take due care and attention when staying in the property. We would be appreciative if you could leave the property as you found it, with all furniture replaced to their original locations. We would also really appreciate you not allowing children to take food or drinks upstairs. In the unfortunate event of an accident causing damage to the property, you should report this immediately to the owners. Please note that any damage may have to be paid for. Telephone: Please note that mobile reception in the lower bay is patchy. There is wifi available at the property.
