The space Welcome to my spacious home in Portland’s most desirable NW Historic District, adjacent to the Pearl. Your accommodation will be 1,000 sq feet, the bottom of this historical Victorian home, built in 1895. The entire home has been lovingly restored with attention to original details. The flat has two bedrooms, one full bath, a fully equipped kitchen, dining nook, a laundry room, and living room. The space is ideal for 2 people and would be a tight fit for 5 unless they were all close friends. The whole space is tastefully furnished and decorated, and centrally air conditioned for those hot summer days. The are two doors (in front and back of house). On-street parking is plentiful and I provide a pass if requested. The furnishings and products in this listing are quality (e.g., Restoration Hardware towels, Pottery Barn sheets, gourmet coffee, French Press, Keurig coffee maker, toaster, original and eclectic art). As was the original intent of Airbnb, this is my home - I actually live here (upstairs and in the unit when vacant). The laundry room has my storage in it. THE LAYOUT: Open the private front door and walk down the stairs to the unit. One flight of stairs brings you into comfortable living room with TV. Both bedrooms are off the living room and are equipped with queen beds. The living room sectional can be converted to a queen. Also off the living room is a bathroom with a shower/tub combination. There is also a laundry room with an oversize washer/dryer and utility sink. The kitchen is off the living room and there is a nook with a table and chairs. Choose a movie or episode to watch on HBO/Prime, play a board game or card game, or nestle back on the sofa with a ‘can’t-put-it-down’ book and a cup of tea. THE NEIGHBORHOOD: The Historic District is one of Portland’s most desirable neighborhoods, with its Victorian houses, landscaped yards, low buildings, mature shady trees. This is very urban and only a few walkable blocks from the trendy Pearl District with its numerous restaurants, drinking spots, and shops. Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s are within walking distance, as is downtown Portland, Powell Books. Walk to neighborhood 23rd St NW with some of the city’s finest restaurants, wine bars, coffee shops, unique shops and niche eateries; or go for a hike in Forest Park or Washington Park (the rose garden), only a 10 minute walk away. OF NOTE: As stated, I normally live here, so there will be personal items in the house, but you will have ample space for your belongings. During your rental, the upper three floors of the house may be occupied by me. The units are independent with separate entrances, etc. This space is professionally cleaned and sanitized - I charge a minimal cleaning fee with the expectation you will leave it clean.
