The sandbox

Sandkasten is a detached holiday home for up to 6 people (4 adults) with approx. 100 m² of living space and 4 rooms over 2 floors. It has 2 bathrooms, a guest toilet, Wi-Fi, 2 TVs and a kitchen with a dishwasher, oven and espresso machine. The sauna and the wood-burning stove provide moments of well-being. Garden, garden furniture, barbecue area and parking spaces are included – max. 2 dogs are allowed; the property is fenced. Other things to note Modernised with a lot of love and passion! This unique holiday home from 1930 for up to 6 people (max. 4 adults) and a dog is located in the small village of Upleward in beautiful Krummhörn. As you enter the house, you will immediately feel its historic charm thanks to the wooden-beam ceiling and the great wooden floorboards. The living room has three comfortable sofas facing the large TV and the pellet stove, which provides pleasant warmth in winter. In the dining room with an extendable dining table, there is a second TV, as well as a desk and an extendable sofa bed for 1–2 people in a separate area. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary appliances: fridge with freezer, dishwasher, oven, ceramic hob, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle and much more. Both bathrooms are also on the ground floor: one bathroom has a toilet, washbasin, hairdryer, shower, bathtub and bio sauna, and in the second bathroom you will find a washbasin, shower, urinal and washer-dryer. The house also has many other practical things for your holiday, such as a shoe polishing machine. A steep staircase leads to the upper floor with the two bedrooms and a guest toilet (cold water only). One bedroom has a double bed, and the other bedroom has two single beds, a wardrobe and children's toys. There is also a changing table in this room. There is also a stair gate to protect children. The large garden, which has been completely fenced off since May 2026 and has attractive garden lighting, is ideal for dogs and children to romp around and play. There is also a sandpit for the children. The existing terrace is furnished, and a swivel barbecue and a fire basket are also available. Bicycles can be safely stored in the shed, where there are also four bicycles, a balance bike for toddlers, a children's bike with training wheels and two toddler bicycles available free of charge (without guarantee or liability on our part). Two car parking spaces are part of the house. Free Wi-Fi is available (we do not guarantee unlimited availability and sufficient speed). Dogs are also very welcome after prior notification! Smoking is not allowed in the house. In Upleward, you will find the dry beach with a large playground right by the dike. You can also take long walks here. This property is rented out for five nights or more during the Easter and autumn holidays, with no fixed changeover day. The picturesque Greetsiel is only about 13 km away, where you can explore and marvel at the numerous sights (e.g., the cutter harbour and the twin mills). But in the other direction, too, you can reach Emden relatively quickly, with its numerous excursion and shopping opportunities. Before Emden, on the Ems, is the Knock, where you will also find a large dog beach for long walks with your four-legged friend. You are welcome to book a linen package as an option.
