Welcome to Nature Lovers’ Hangout! This creative 3-bedroom home is rooted in a private tropical garden setting, not visible from the road, away from it all, yet just 5 minutes to Ngunguru (gateway to the stunning beaches of the Tutukaka Coast) & 15 minutes to Whangarei. Nestled in a steep hillside overlooking the winding Ngunguru River, the chalet is a great place to be & reconnect with nature. With the river just opposite of the gate, enjoy a peaceful paddle through the mangroves. The space The upper level comprises 4 almost equally sized rooms, 3 bedrooms and 1 spacious bathroom. Watch the lush garden display or the stars at night while soaking in the bath tub or enjoy the large shower. Each of the three bedrooms has a special view: garden room and bush room with queen sized beds and ward robes while the river room offers two single beds and a work space. A few steps connect to the lower level where lounge, dining and kitchen open to the surrounding deck, a lovely spot for your morning coffee while watching the sunrise over the river. There is a heat pump and a romantic fireplace for those cooler months. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge freezer, electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, espresso machine etc. and has a pantry, making it suitable for longer stays as well. You will find complimentary organic coffee and tea as well as basic cooking ingredients (oil, vinegar, salt, spices, sugar) available for your convenience. Cellphone reception varies with provider and device but is reliably available a few steps further uphill. There is solid WiFi, WiFi calling permitted, but no TV. However, there are books, boardgames, congkak, some musical instruments and a yoga mat. Singing with and listening to the birds are also popular. Guest access Access to the house is via a steep but sealed private driveway, manageable by any car. Parts of the driveway are shared, so please drive slowly at all times! There is secure parking space for 2 cars on the concrete parking pad in front of the house. Other things to note Only booked guests are permitted on the property. Please double check that you have booked the correct number of guests before you arrive. No visitors without prior approval of the host! There are insect screens on most windows and the sliding door for quiet nights.
