Take Paws is a dog-friendly farmhouse with rolling pastures and distant mountain views. Enjoy coffee on the deck, while watching songbirds, squirrels and cows and calves in the pasture across the road. Take Paws is only 5 minutes from downtown Franklin, but it still feels like you are out in the country. Attractions nearby include hiking trails, gem mining, white-water rafting, river walks, fishing, Wayah Bald Lookout, museums, numerous waterfalls and three dog parks. The space OUTSIDE Take Paws is a single-story house located in a picturesque area with views of rolling pastures in the front yard and mountain views in the back. There is a deck on the front of the house with views of the pasture. There are also bird feeders to enjoy the many songbirds and small mammals that are attracted to them. The fire pit is also in the front yard and has 4 Adirondack chairs. Fire wood is provided. The backyard has a new chain-link fence. Dogs need to be supervised in the backyard. There are bears, raccoons, deer and other wildlife in the area and the fence may not hold an escapist dog. The horse-shoe style driveway can hold 4 cars. There is a deck on the front side of the house with chairs and a gas grill. INSIDE There are 2 bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms. Each bedroom has a queen bed with Dreamcloud mattresses. The master has an alcove (sitting area) and a walk in shower (1 step up). There is a 43” Vizio Smart TV in the master. The outside door in the master leads to the fenced backyard. The second bedroom has a bay window with a mountain view and a claw tub. There are ceiling fans in every room except for the kitchen. There is a gas fireplace and a gas stove. The heating and air is electric. The living room has a 55” Vizio Smart TV with a sound bar. YouTube TV is available on both TVs. There is a full sleeper sofa with a mattress topper. There is a dog suite off of the living room. It has dog towels and blankets and a 36” wire crate. The dining room table has seating for 4 and there are 2 bar stools at the kitchen counter. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, Keurig, air fryer, crockpot, dishes, utensils, cookie sheets, muffin pan, mixing bowls, grilling utensils, pots and pans. There are books, games and puzzles available. The WiFi is 1 gig. We provide amenities that will last you a day or two - shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, toothbrush/paste, razor, Keurig cups, creamer, herbal tea, honey straws, sugar, Splenda and a snack. We will also have dish detergent and a few pods for the dishwasher and washing machine. Guest access Guests will be able to utilize the entire .89 acre property except for the storage shed. Please make sure dogs are on leash unless they are inside the fenced area. Other things to note The driveway is u-shaped and is steep on one side. If you enter the driveway by the brown shed you will drive down the steep side rather than up. It is easier for cars that are not all-wheel drive.
