This fully furnished, recently updated Condo is walking distance to The Galleria, Central Market, Highland Village, countless restaurants and shops, public transport, nightlife, etc.. You will love this place. It is located in a quiet, high-end neighborhood (Afton Oaks). One of only 8 units on the property. Cute mid-Century building with updated units and quiet professional neighbors. Currently set up as a 1 bedroom + separate office / study area, so not suitable for more than 1 or 2 guests. The space Originally built in the 1950's, this unit was taken down to the studs and completely rebuilt recently. All new bath. All new kitchen. New air conditioning and heat. New trim, paint, windows, cabinets, appliances, countertops, lighting, etc. The style is kind of Mid-Century Modern meets Contemporary. The original hardwood floors have been completely stripped and stained a dark ebony color. The color palette is various shades of grey w/ pure white trim. The kitchen is fitted out with everything you need... gas range, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes, etc. The apartment has a new washer and dryer and a new 50" smart TV. There are only 8 units on the property--all updated 2 bed / 1 bath flats. Most of the tenants are typical, long term renters (not AirBnB). Currently 2 of the 8 units have been adapted for AirBnB use. The property is completely fenced and gated, with plenty of off and on-street parking available. The building is L-shaped, with a giant, ancient Magnolia tree dominating the central courtyard. This particular unit also has its own, large private patio area off the main bedroom. The neighborhood (Afton Oaks) consists mainly of $1,000,000+ single family homes. This property is one of just a handful of original, small multi-unit properties that remain. The area is very walk-able, with the Galleria / Uptown areas to the west and Afton Oaks / River Oaks to the east. There is excellent freeway access to 610, 69, and I-10. *** Please send us an Inquiry FIRST before trying to book the space. No shared spaces or shared access whatsoever. Other things to note *** We generally do not accept bookings from anyone without at least 2 (but preferable 5 or more) positive reviews from previous Airbnb stays with other Hosts. If you do not understand why having previous experiences (and thus, reviews) on Airbnb might be important to the Host--it's only because you have likely never been an Airbnb Host yourself. People who have never used Airbnb before often have completely erroneous and unrealistic expectations about how it works--which can lead to conflicts with the Host or other Guests--and negative reviews on both sides. We also do not accept 3rd party bookings. We only consider / accept bookings from the actual GUEST(s)... not their employer... not their parents... etc. If you are adult enough to stay in an AirBnB on your own... you should be adult enough to book it yourself. Airbnb is not a hotel. Every single Airbnb Host / Property is completely unique and completely different. Hosts don't ALL do things the same way--we don't all have the same rules and requirements. And, unfortunately, Airbnb as a company does not have the Hosts' backs as it were. (MOST Airbnb Guests are at least average in quality... but--as in all aspects of life--there are plenty of whackos and d-bags that use (and abuse) Airbnb.) So the Hosts are kind of left to deal with trying to filter out the bad apples to the degree possible--with the very limited tools we have available to us. And REVIEWS are the main tool.
