Spacious Essex Barn: Cinema, Bar & Tennis Court

Welcome to our private barn conversion, tucked away in peaceful South Essex countryside. Just 20 mins from Southend-on-Sea’s 7 miles of beaches, pier, amusements & Adventure Island, and 10 mins from Southend Airport. We are also 5 mins from Apton Hall Wedding venue. Enjoy exclusive use of the barn with a cinema room, bar/lounge with pool table, games room with table tennis & gym, plus a tennis court. 4 great pubs/restaurants within 10 mins & beautiful countryside walks nearby! The space The 2/3 bedrooms are on the ground floor, the family room has a double and two single beds. Then we have a conjoined room with a double and 1 single bed. There is room for travel cot in both the family suite and bedroom 1. Also on the ground floor is the kitchen, workspace, 2 bathrooms with showers and the games room/gym. The large gym/games room is equipped with full size table tennis table, darts board. The other side is the gym equipment, running machine, rowing machine and bike. Alongside free weights and kettle bells. There is also a TV in this room. The first floor has the bar/lounge area with amazing views out to the countryside. We also have a cinema room and an additional toilet upstairs. Outside we have courtyard area with bbq equipment, you also have exclusive use of the tennis court during your stay, all tennis equipment is provided. Guest access Access to all areas within the barn and the front patio area, including the tennis court. Other parts are private and the hosts main residence. Other things to note Secure space for 2 cars behind electric sliding security gates. Unfortunately, there is no additional parking on the street as it is on a private lane. We supply all the rackets and balls for tennis and table tennis. We also have a pool table and darts board in the barn. If you would like to order food deliveries or takeaways before or during your stay, when booking please advise the driver to come to the second gate and leave your number so they can call you on arrival. Please note, we do have quiet hours between 10pm - 8am. This is a residential lane so we do ask guests keep noise levels down between this time. We often have guests ask us about late check out and early check ins. With check in, if we can accommodate an earlier one we will, 3pm is the earliest time but it is dependent on whether we have had guests in that day. With checkout, we offer a checkout of up to midday at a cost of £15 per hour but again this is dependent on whether we have guests arriving that day. Generally during the school holidays we don't offer as we have lots of same day check ins and it takes time to clean the barn between guests. We do offer Bridal packages for guests that are staying with us the night before their wedding, please email for details. These include personalised robes for your party, decorations and champagne. We have a travel cot and high chair available for guests that are travelling with babies, please let us know beforehand and we can get them set up for you.
