Captains Cabin

Welcome to the Captains Cabin. Relax and enjoy the outdoor living experience, cook on an open fire, shower in a quirky horse box wet room. Get back to nature. You will be the only guests in your own private fenced dog friendly garden. The cosy cabin is nestled under an oak tree in an elevated vantage point on our working family sheep farm . Perfect for nature spotting, You will have walking access to wander fields, an Orchard, woodland and lakes. Fishing is permitted by arrangement. The space The Captains Cabin has been built here on the farm utilising a redundant farm hay trailer, itself originally a rail carriage. The cabin exterior has been clad with Douglas fir boarding, with oak branch architectural features using home sourced timber. The Cabin is fully insulated and fitted internally with tongue and groove pine, using bronze electric fittings to provide a clean neat finish inside with rustic charm outside. There is a fridge , kettle, heater and tea and coffee facilities. The horse box has been reclaimed and repurposed into a quirky wet room, with flushing toilet, hot shower, wash basin and electric lighting. We have positioned the cabin in a commanding sunny open position, under the shade of a maturing oak tree. Cook outside on an open wood fire (logs provided), Or use our small gas camping stove. Guest access The cabin has its own private fenced dog friendly garden. You may park in front of the cabin inside the fenced garden. The cabin itself is accessed by five wooden steps. Guests are permitted to walk the surrounding land to wander fields, lakes, woodland and an orchard. A Map is provided of guest access to farm land. From Captains Cabin You will find quiet country lanes leading to historical castles, villages and market towns in the hills and valleys of the Welsh borderlands. Guests are welcome to fish our private lake by arrangement. We have carp up to 20 pounds and other species. Fishing costs £10 per rod per day, bring your own tackle, Catch and return only. Other things to note • Check in 15:00, check out by 11:00 • 2 guest maximum, no parties or events • This accommodation is not suitable for children or infants • No smoking inside cabin or wet room •one well behaved dog welcome per booking • Pets to be kept on leads at all times. This is a working farm with animals and wildlife • No pets to be left on property unattended •the cabin has a fridge, kettle, lighting and sockets for chargers. All cooking facilities are outside . We provide open fire bbq with logs, basic utensils and gas stove. •There is no microwave, oven or Wi-Fi available at the cabin during your stay. Though good mobile reception.
